Washingtons renowned anti-tax fighter, Grover Norquist, apparently thinks that letting tax cuts expire doesnt violate a no-new-taxes pledge he has extracted from most Republicans. See pledge signees here.
Norquist told the Washington Post that letting broad-based tax cuts passed in the Bush era would not violate his Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
Not continuing a tax cut is not technically a tax increase, he told the Posts editorial page.

If it’s not a Tax increase then what is it?
His Moslem wife.
Not continuing a tax cut is not technically a tax increase,
Perhaps in Washington, everywhere else you are a damn liar.
the taxes were 26% based on Bradley Gephardt. they went up under GHWB and then Clinton. They were partially lowered by W but still increased from B-G.
Muslim issuesNorquist is the co-founder of the Islamic Free Market Institute.[28]
In 2010, Norquist, whose wife was born Muslim, emerged as the most outspoken Republican foe of politicizing the mosque-in-Manhattan issue, saying:
“This is a distraction from a winning game plan
It is very stupid, when Republicans are poised to win an overwhelming victory in November over Democratic spending, to focus attention on this issue.”[29]
He has also “announced his plan to assemble a center-right coalition to discuss pulling out of Afghanistan to save hundreds of billions of dollars.”[30]
In a CPAC 2011 speech, David Horowitz accused Norquist of having connections with the Muslim Brotherhood.[31]

Subtracting a negative number is the same as adding a positive number.
“Wow. What’s going on here?”

A must-do cocktail party of Beltway Insiders for which d!#kless Grover simply must score an invite?
“Not continuing a tax-cut”...?
How do you “continue” a tax-cut? Taxes were cut once...in 2001. From that point forward, that was the tax rate. From there, you can either cut taxes further or raise them. The tax-cut
This is along the same lines of that favorite Democrat saying, “we can’t afford a tax-cut”. It suggests that the Fed is entitled to the higher rates, and anything less is a “cut”.
Norquist better clarify this silly statement.
The three questions for those that try this crap:
What were the taxes when the pledge was given?
What are the taxes when it is time for the next election?
How did you vote related to that change?

Send these basic questions to your elected officials. Let them know the criteria you will use to judge their actions.
"Read my lips (and vote for me). No new taxes".
Bush brought us tax relief, and decreased our burden. This guy is increasing our burden again. What is it if not an increase?
"It depends on the meaning of the word 'is'."
Yesterday, we made half our bricks for the government, and half for us. Now, the government wants more than half. They refer to this as their "fair share."
(Starve the beast. Free the tax slaves.)
Norquist says he was misquoted and that he supports CONTINUATION of the Bush tax cuts.
Norquist opposes letting Bush tax cuts expire
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/07/21/7135098-norquist-opposes-letting-bush-tax-cuts-expire
Just hours after the Washington Post editorial page reported that anti-tax activist Grover Norquist wouldn’t consider letting the Bush tax cuts expire as breaking his tax pledge (Not continuing a tax cut is not technically a tax increase”), Norquist said he opposes such a compromise in the current debt standoff.
When Jansing pressed Norquist whether letting the Bush tax cuts expire would violate the pledge, he didn’t directly answer the question — but stressed that his organization would oppose the move.
“There are certain things you can do technically and not violate the pledge, but that the general public would clearly understand as a tax increase. So I can be clear: Americans for Tax Reform would oppose any effort to weaken, reduce, or not continue the 2001, 2003 Bush tax cuts.
“It wouldn’t pass the laugh test to go to the American people and tell them you just allowed four trillion dollars in higher taxes by allowing the 2001, 2003 lower rates to lapse and tell people that’s not a tax increase,” he told MSNBC’s Chris Jansing.

I am guessing the feedback from the first comments was swift, loud and clear.

Memo to freepers:
Media bias is a serious issue:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2751855/posts
Democrat minions are writing most of the dispatches in Washington. They are slanted and have an agenda. The media agenda is to stampede the GOP to a deal that is good for Obama and bad for the GOP.
You WILL be subjected to slanted, biased and FALSE reporting. This MEDIA BIAS is designed to influence YOU to:
- throw up your hands
- give in to a bad Democrat deal
- get Republican politicians to say or do foolish things
- separate Republican office-holders from their base of support
DO NOT FALL FOR IT!
And it ain’t just Horowitz. Search Norquist and Gaffney,, Norquist and Malkin, Norquist and Spencer and so on and you wil find that they have been all over Norquist for years...
“In a CPAC 2011 speech, David Horowitz accused Norquist of having connections with the Muslim Brotherhood.”
And he is right. He was given money by the guy Almoudi who Holder now wants to release from prison.
Why conservatives are so slow to recognize this is beyond me.
Norquist says he was misquoted and that he supports CONTINUATION of the Bush tax cuts.
He is also an agenda setter, lobbyist, fund raiser and overall heavy hitter for the American based muslim terrorist front group, C.A.I.R. And believe it or not, with all of that known....he was allowed to sit on the NRA’s board, (and the NRA knew FULL well of his anti American activities!!!!!!), for years. Nice huh?
You are correct, bobby.
Please tell me why folks are not getting this message.
I have no idea other than the sheeple not paying attention. Sad I know. I realize a lot of folks are still working, families etc. but damn. As far as the NRA goes, I phoned ‘em regarding this scum norquist being allowed ANYWHERE near,(let alone being allowed to be put up for a vote for a board slot and THEN elected!!!), their once great org. before I quit ‘em and their response, and I quote exactly: “Sir, the NRA does not care what it’s board members do on their own time”. End quote. Really something isn’t it?
