“For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in a hospital room, arguing with insurance companies
___________________________________________

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

In another thread there is a mention of him whining something like “instead of spending time with her family”

OK the other day I was in Barnes and Nobles and I perused that book for myself ...

Heres what the book has...

Myra was vacationing in Mexico when she called her grandmother Madelaine in Hawaii...

Madelaine told her that her acceptance to I think it was New York State for graduate school had arrived..

So off Myra goes to NY to school...with Haweaii as her permanent home...

Myra actually works her way through grad school...first working in a neighborhood bar and then teaching at a local I think it was a porivate preschool..

Unlike her brother who had everything paid for him...

Meanwhile Stan Ann is in Indonesia and Barry is in Chicago...married to Michelle..

Shortly after this Stan Ann comes to Hawaii very sick and is examined in by a doctor there...

Its cancer and she goes into hospital for a serious operation...

No battles with the insurance company mentioned...

She gets out of hospital and goes to stay with Madelaine to recuperate...

Shes still sick so she and Madelaine go to NYC for tests...

She is poorly and in a wheel chair..

There Myra comes to spend some tiome with Mom and Granny...

Stan Ann must have been able to get around some because she and Myra have some Mom-daughter time together and enjoy the few days taking in the sights...the Staue of Liberty etc...

Stan Ann and Madelaine fly back to Hawaii and Myra continues her studies in NY

As yet Barry has never been to see his Mom...

A few months later Stan Ann is worse and dying so Myra says she will come as soon as the semester is over (her last I think) and she is oblighed by a promise to finish out the school term where she teaches (or something)

A couple of months later Myra comes home to Hawaii for good...

Barry has not even gone to see Stan Ann for a weekend...

a few weeks latewr Stan Ann dies without ever seeinbg her son again...

Right away Barry shows up in Hawaii for the funeral and Indonesian memorial and to chuck his Moms ashes in the ocean..

Thought he could never get away...

So if you pictured Barry weeping in the corner of the hospital room as his mothers attention was taken up by bad insurance companies and sonny could tell his beloved Mommy bye, youve got the wrong impression...

Fore the last year of Stan Snns life Barry yukked it up in Chicago 100s of miles from his dying Mom...

BTW when Madelaine was dying he did much the same thing...

He did go to Hawaii in her last dsays but he spent more time campaigning and playing golf and if he ever went near the dying grandmother it was for only a brief one time visit during the days he was there

HOWEVER he managed to make a big thing over her ashes also...
