INDIANAPOLIS -- A Morristown man is fuming after the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles' decision to suspend his license for a medical condition he doesn't have. Todd Allen said when he and his wife split up in 2009, the judge gave him their car. Allen said his ex-wife was not pleased with the judge's decision and told the BMV that he had narcolepsy, a chronic sleep disorder.

Ah, the ex-wife syndrome coupled with incompetent government, what a cocktail for misery that is.

I was arrested for driving on a suspended license that wasn’t.

The ex-wife isn’t a licensed health practitioner, nor was she married at the time to Mr. Allen, so upon what legal authority does the BMV rely on her opinion?
Seems to me like he could sue her ass off for a number of things.

Did you have to go to court with documents or what? How did you get this cleared up?!!

Yes, but how wise would that be of a man who was idiot enough to re-marry her after what she did (yea, they are re-married now)?

I’ve been wrongly arrested twice and “rightly” arrested more than my fair share of times.
The first time was non payment of child support I didn’t owe. The cops even took me home after that one.

I was thinking he should sue her too but then it says they went back together. He may regret that.

Last sentence of the article reads: “Allen and his wife have since gotten back together”.
Maybe a mental health evaluation is in order?

Yeah I went to court and explained the situation plus showed the judge the license that I had renewed during the supposed suspension. We went into his chambers and he made a couple of calls. When he got off the phone he said somebody screwed up and he dismissed it.

Good grief! What a life. I probably should have been arrested for excess speed but I am still able to use the “really I am old lady driving a manual transmission do you really think I could get this PT Cruiser to 95? Come on your radar gun must be faulty”.
Sorry about the arrested. I am not sure what I would do if I were actually arrested, probably make the news. My husband would be mortified, he is also telling me to shut up. ;-)

I bet that was an interesting bit of time! “Somebody screwed up” isn’t a great explanation but I guess it is what it is. I am hoping the same person who made this mistake isn’t the one who enters warrants into the system!

How many pair of ripped jeans and white "Dago-Tees" do you own ..... and I assume there's a mullet somewhere in this picture?

Two moving violations in 42 years of driving.
No idea how I’ve managed to pull that off...
