COPS has been running since 1989 (over 22 years!) and covering hundreds of police and sheriff forces.

There hasn’t been an issue about “extra compensation.”

This is just a publicity seeker wanting the camera on him...

All four “Police Women of Broward County” have the typical attitude of LEO’s ... They are better than you or me.

The pretty blonde is the one I can’t tolerate the most .. What a loud obnoxious, ignorant you know what.

I’ll take Cops any day of the week over this crap of a television program.

I work in television. I also live in Los Angeles, and if I ever heard that the LAPD or the Sheriff department was involved in a show, I would scream my head off in protest.

Police have badges and lethal weapons. They need to have one thing on their minds: their jobs. Cameras change everything. EVE. RY. THING.

If you sign onto a TV show, you have a new boss: the producer and director. They’re paying you. How can you square this with your old bosses, your police captain and the public?

You cannot reconcile pulling down a private salary while you’re working on the public dime. It’s unconscionable.

The same is true of cops who write books and movies based on information they only had access to in the course of their jobs of public trust. Should absolutely be illegal or a fireable offense for them to participate in “deals.”

Real life cops do not belong in the entertainment business.
