In the link you supplied Bachmann is quoted: "I am here to say I will not be raising the debt ceiling."

On Ron Paul's website he says: This bill only serves to sanction the status quo by putting forth a $1 trillion budget deficit and authorizing a $2.4 trillion increase in the debt limit.

Connie Mack also voted 'no' because he said this bill allowed for an increase in the debt ceiling.

Is this bill exactly the same as Jim DeMint's pledge? Or is this something Boehner put up to give Republicans cover for ultimately voting to raise the debt ceiling?

The media put Bachmann between a rock and a hard place. She found a political solution.

The media spin on Bachmann was that she would not sign the “conservative” pledge, implying she was not a conservative. They were looking to hurt her presidential ambitions. Bachmann found a brilliant solution.

She signed the pledge showing that she is a good conservative, but then added an escape clause that allowed her not to vote for it. She had her cake and ate it too.

Bachmann is more conservative than the dunces who passed this piece of garbage, but she found a way to save face against the MSM who was ready to grill her over her not supporting a “conservative” bill.

Her move was politically brilliant and she could still hold to her principles and not raise the debt ceiling.

I admire a brilliant political tactic. I am sure you disagree.
