The 234-190 vote sends the "cut, cap and balance" plan to the Democratic-controlled Senate, where it has virtually no chance of passing.

“’The Republicans are trying to repeal the second half of the 20th century,’ said Rep. Sander Levin, D-Michigan.”
Actually that’s a good idea!
She just voted no on Cut, Cap and Balance because (once again) it didn’t include Obamacare.
I agree. I want a principled conservative who can influence others. Just voting no isn’t enough. It is certainly better than most of the other bozo’s up there - granted - but nowhere near Reagan territory and what I am looking for in a Presidential candidate. Bachmann has been a disappointment thus far. And I don’t see her as VP because she doesn’t bring any electoral votes to the mix.
MB voted NO!
Why would it even matter what ronpaul says about it? Geez, it’ll be nice when ronpaul and the WON are gone next year!
She's pulling a Ron Paul ( has done it before ), which means that she's voting WITH the DEMS, as he so often does!
Will she vote for the damned GANG OF SIX crapola, instead?
Extols the virtues of the bill.
Signs a pledge to vote yes BUT adds a line about Obamacare
Bill clearly doesn't address Obamacare so she has her way 'out'.
She wants to have her cake and to eat it too.
She voted no because it didn’t defund Obamacare. How many times have we heard that and the ‘it didn’t go far enough’ meme?
No, Bachmann never said she would vote yes on this. Do you know for sure that this bill is exactly the same as Jim DeMint’s pledge? Ron Paul signed that as well but didn’t vote for this bill. On his website he claims this bill allows for an increase in the debt ceiling. Bachmann has consistently said she would NOT vote to raise the debt ceiling unless ObamaCare was defunded.
Along with her support for the initiative Bachmann added her own personal line to the pledge: the repeal and defunding of Obamacare. In signing the Pledge, I am adding a line; I also pledge that along with cutting spending, putting in place enforceable spending caps, and passing a balanced budget amendment, we must repeal and defund Obamacare, Bachmann said.
Obamacare is the largest spending and entitlement program in our nations history, she added. Without its repeal, we cannot have real economic reform.
IOW, if I don't get my way, I'm voting no. Am I the only person who didn't hear anything in the bill about Obamacare???
Yes she DID. See my post above. She voted no because what she wanted wasn’t included.
No compromise, send the US into default!!!
Nothing is going to delete nobamacare until we can get enough House, Senate and the Prez to take it apart and kill it like the Terminator. The damn dems were smart enough to add language to it to prevent its easy straight-forward destruction. The House tried to do that right after swearing in after 2010 and ran into a wall.
Did Bachmann try to insert it into CC&B and got snubbed?
“Youre wasting your breath.”
I don’t even know what you are referring to. I’m just stating the facts. Bachmann said months ago she wouldn’t vote for a debt ceiling increase that did not repeal Obamacare, and she didn’t. How exactly is that “wasting your breath.”
“Normally wed be skeptical about legislation rushed through congress, why now are so many on board?”
Why do you think I care about what you are skeptical about?
“This legislation will never become law.”
Maybe so, maybe not. It hardly matters if it does or not. It’s got as much a chance of passing the Senate as any plan that includes tax increases does of passing the House, so its not inferior to anything put forth so far.
These things are just facts. I’m not even sure what you are disagreeing with. Make yourself clear.
Please quote where she said she would vote yes.
No idea if she tried to insert language into the actual bill. All I’ve seen is that she added it to her ‘pledge’. It was an easy out.
No, you’d be hearing how she was wrong.
