This is NOT the time, nor the Bill to use to strike down Obamacare, which we all want gone.

It does nothing to keep that idea in the fore; instead, it just muddies the waters. If she were really true to herself and what she believes in, she should have refused to sign this pledge. And yes, it truly is as simple as that.

No, her vote didn't change the outcome, but the pledge thing DID make her look irrational at best.

Yes, people want Obama bested and continually stuck in the eye, but this is NOT how to do it; not by a long shot. Only us news/political junkies will ever know about it. And it can be used against her, which is a bad thing.

Your argument is fallacious and irrational.

At this point in time, neither the smoke and mirrors suggestions, and that's all they are, there isn't anything substansive there are all, and the House Bill are DOA. Something WILL have to be done and if the House GOPers all stick together ( yeah and I'm the Queen of England...........Victoria Regina ) and won't budge about raising the debt ceiling, at all, the Senate GOPers WILL cave, yet again. If ALL GOPers don't cave ( and we do NOT hold the Senate, so it won't really help all that much ), the MSM will blame them for what happens and/or catasrophic lies about what will. Obama has the upper hand now, because of that idiot McConnell, which was strengthened today, by four other idiotic GOPer Senators.

Do you really believe that Obama would even sign a Bill, should one get passed in both Houses ( ROTFLMSO ), that didn't raise the debt ceiling, even a wee bit ?

As a Palin supporter, I admire Bachmann’s no vote to hold the line on the debt ceiling.

What's a "PALIN KADs"?

I'm assuming it isn't anything "good" and if you are putting me in that category, you need your head examined!

I've seen you on Palin thread after Palin thread, trashing Palin, all of her supporters, hijacking the threads to do so and you have the unmitigated gall to complain about anyone pointing out factual problems with Bachmann's ( rather than lefty madeup up lies and egregious canards, as you and the other PDSers do on any and all Palin threads as well as on threads that have NOTHING at all to do with her !) actions?

The media put Bachmann between a rock and a hard place. She found a political solution.

The media spin on Bachmann was that she would not sign the “conservative” pledge, implying she was not a conservative. They were looking to hurt her presidential ambitions. Bachmann found a brilliant solution.

She signed the pledge showing that she is a good conservative, but then added an escape clause that allowed her not to vote for it. She had her cake and ate it too.

Bachmann is more conservative than the dunces who passed this piece of garbage, but she found a way to save face against the MSM who was ready to grill her over her not supporting a “conservative” bill.

Her move was politically brilliant and she could still hold to her principles and not raise the debt ceiling.

I admire a brilliant political tactic. I am sure you disagree.

Well she's moving on up. Explain.

Just a thought... we have a bunch of illegals problem in this country, also a border problem.
The first is systemic, the second is a failure of the country to accomplish a specific task.

We have a Government that is out of control in virtually every spending aspect, also Obamacare.
The first is is systemic, Obama care is not, it's something that can be done right now.

I'm for first things first, control the borders and repeal Obama care.

Bachmann, IMO, is saying the same thing. She made the right move.

Rush was running he mouth about Obamacare. The GOP don’t have the Senate. All the House GOP can do is send the bill to the Senate to be ignored over and over. Since the Senate would never send it to Obama, Rush is wrong that it is even possible to send it to Obama over and over.

She's saying what you want to hear, but it's not only out of context, it doesn't work on the topic at hand.

When you found out that the ObamaCare Bill was larded full of all kinds of other, off topic and horrible things, did it upset you? If so, then why doesn't Bachmann's useless and irrelevant interjection of ObamaCare in the pledge? Could it be because you support her?

And for the record...........should anyone I supported do the same, I would still condemn it and say what I'm saying right now, about that person/s.

Rush believes in being on the offense, offense and more offense.

So do the Democrats who add in persistence.

I'd like to see more of that coming from the republican congress.

Like Palin, Bachmann is not one to shut up and sit down. That's why they're in contention.

“While Nero golfed.”

Funny you should mention that. On this day in AD 64, the great fire of Rome began, as Nero fiddled.

My mind is not made up, hell I voted for McCain. I like Palin's attitude, she encourages everyone to step in and fight it out, and she appreciates the courage that they have to do so.

I like to hear them all out and try to find their good points first.

Speaking of larded up, now I'm using a lot of virgin olive oil. especially on zuchini which is doing very well in my wife's garden. I like zuchini like Popey likes spinach and Whimpy likes burgers, hold the cheese. I try to like a lot of things.

“Do you really believe that Obama would even sign a Bill, should one get passed in both Houses ( ROTFLMSO ), that didn’t raise the debt ceiling, even a wee bit ?”

That isn’t the way it works. The debt ceiling won’t be raised unless Congress actually votes to raise it. The President doesn’t have to sign anything. Congress simply has to sit back and do nothing, and we won’t have any more debt.

I’ve yet to hear a fact from you, just unsubstantiated claims that you can’t quote.

And conveniently, you “don’t do links.”

So much for your facts.

I’m just shaking my head at how few who call themselves “tea partiers” or conservative seem to notice the most obvious thing about this legislation: that it raises the debt ceiling.

Apparently she does not like appeasement and compromise.

I agree.

At least she does not like appeasement and compromise on important principles, which is a pretty rare thing in DC.

Even the low ball CBO analysis gives 9.3T as the deficit out to 2019. Well, it's less of a low ball estimate than Obama's, but that was a joke. It'll be close to a miracle if we drop the current $1.5T deficit at all on Obama's watch.

Talking about $100B in the first year in cuts is downright silly in comparison to the current $1.5T deficit.

Apparently her principle here is to actually do something about the debt & deficit, not just pass some fake bill about it.

There are pros and cons to her decision. The pro is that she made the others look weak on principle. On the other hand, if she had voted yea, she would have displayed Republican solidarity.
