CONCORD, N.H. (AP) In spite of his thundering speeches against big government, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a troubled relationship with the tea party, a rift increasingly obvious as he gets closer to a presidential bid.
Tea party groups from New Hampshire to Texas are collaborating to criticize Perry's record on immigration, public health and spending and his former affiliation with the Democratic Party.

Not trying to do that at all.
The point is that every single POLITICIAN has made some kind of decision we can find fault with. And whether or not Perry or Cain or Bachmann deserve anyone's support, the critiques have risen to the level that NOBODY can pass muster anymore.
...let his own record stand and fall on it's own merits.
...and the worst of the worst RINO is better than certain death for the Republic from Obama.
Sorry.
Don’t ping me anymore moron. I never asked to be on a RINO pinglist.
Furthermore, we are told to try the spirits of Men to know who they are of.
All I was saying was we should give him a chance. I think ‘Try the spirits of men to know who they are of” implies that we get to know him and not just by what people are saying about him. Otherwise, we are to believe that michelle Bachman is a drug addict and I won’t even mention what was said about Sarah.
There was a previous thread that documented Perry working with ACORN on legislation Perry signed.
Yes, THAT freakin’ ACORN!!!
Even had a photo of the ACORNs standing around Perry as he ws signing it!
Ain't it the truth. And a converted dimocrat no less -- the horror!!! Eating our own seems to be a fashionable pastime amongst conservatives but I'm not altogether sure that's a bad thing. Unlike the Dim's coalition of victims who primarily take their cue from the dinomedia, we are more inclined to take our potential candidates to the town square and rip their clothes off for all the world to see. OMG, look at that; he/she has a wart on his/her butt!!! We can't possibly vote for someone with a wart on their but. The shame. Of course, it's not like we would be voting for an illegal alien for president or anything. ;^)
I know! But while we are whipping our boys in the town square, SEIU is off voting for their fuhrer!
What to do!?!?
I don't have an answer to that. Without divine guidance, I'm not sure anything we do at this point will make much of a difference. We can pray that God will move across the face of America to reinstill the reverence for Him we once had as a nation in abundance. Your mileage may vary...
That’s what the tea party thinks.
If you want to leave Rick Santelli aside (who is after all not a politician), Ron Paul does deserve more credit than any Presidential Candidate for inventing the tea party.
If you’re talking about helping tea party candidates get elected in 2010, that’s when you start talking about Palin.
You might not have been paying attention, but there were a lot of Ron Paul Tea Party events on 12/16/07. Ron Paul himself dumped tea into water on that day. There’s lots and lots of good video, good pictures of those events. Ron Paul raised over $6 Million that day.
That is a very nicely formatted selection of “bad things about Perry”.
I hope you're just expressing an opinion and not trying to lecture others here.
I agree with your statement and find the purists occasionally annoying. I can't help but wonder if these are the people who worship their politicians, so they perceive their object of worship as perfect and all others are simply not to be considered.
To me, they all have their good and bad points, just like any human being.
Right now, the only person running for the GOP nomination I absolutely will not vote for is Romney.
Well, I wouldn't vote for Gingrich, Paul or Huntsman either, but there's no chance any of them will get the nomination.
To me, they all have their good and bad points, just like any human being.
I'm concerned about self-professed conservatives who would prefer the Perfect Marxist instead of the Imperfect Republican.
