37 prefectures get meat from cows fed tainted straw
The Yomiuri Shimbun
The meat of beef cattle fed rice straw tainted with high levels of radioactive cesium in Fukushima Prefecture was distributed in 37 prefectures, and the cows' meat was sold to consumers in 35 of the prefectures, according to a Yomiuri Shimbun survey.
The tainted meat was newly found to have been distributed in Toyama, Nara and Yamaguchi prefectures, in addition to the distribution in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Osaka and Fukuoka prefectures that had been confirmed earlier.
The 35 prefectures where meat from the cows was sold to consumers include Tokyo, Miyagi, Hyogo, Nara and Yamaguchi.
A total of 143 cows fed rice straw contaminated with high levels of radioactive cesium were shipped to meat processing plants, and radioactive cesium exceeding provisional legal limits was detected in some of their meat.

P!
Any wonder why we are eating only Australian beef these days (for the while at least). ??? ;-)
I guess you also have to make do with American canned vegetables and Norwegian tuna.
No kidding. That’s what the MREs are for. On the other hand, you might have to eat a LOT of that Cesium beef, I mean pounds and pounds and pounds of it, for it to start to have any effect I believe. Still, I’ll stick with what we are eating.
Did any of this meat, by chance, get sold to the Whitehouse?
Got your hopes up? If it is Kobe beef, they may have gotten some. They do not eat what the little people eat however.
