KABUL - General David Petraeus, Washington's new intelligence chief, handed over command of American and coalition forces in Afghanistan to Gen John Allen yesterday, as Kabul's international allies draw up exit plans from the 10-year war.
The handover took place at a ceremony in Kabul, just hours after a key adviser to Afghan President Hamid Karzai was shot during a raid on his home in the capital - the second top ally killed in a week.
Gen Petraeus, who served as commander of the United States-led international force for one year, has claimed some progress against Taliban militants with troops stabilising parts of the restive south.
But his legacy in Afghanistan remains in question as violence continues to rage.

I am not sure about them.
Don’t think the name is what it sounds like.
I have read other stuff years ago from them, but it has been a while.
Don’t think they fit the normal Left vs Right discussion.
I am generally against everything that comes from the State Department and that makes me a bit out of place in some Republican Circles. My feeling is that the internationalist traitors took over the State Department so many years ago it is probably impossible to remove them.

What do you know about his positions on anything?
No, not particularly but I don’t consider this man to be an asset for our troops. Any Generals who do not fight against “Don’t shoot until you have been shot at” orders is a slimy bugger.”
