“Sounds like the prominent pharmaceutical executive doesnt play well with others.”
Or he holds a bad grudge. The son was critically injured while in the girlfirend’s care. Then the girlfriend died. The pharmaceutical executive father was not at home, I gather, at the time of either incident.

Weird. Only one thing is certain: i.e. that people were just dying to get out of that mansion.

Your theory is one of mine as well. Either Dad or his brother freaked out on her for not watching the kid more carefully, not to mention throwing a party while the boy is in a coma. Strung her up.

*IF* I remember correctly, it’s right down the street from the old Orville Reddenbacher house (corner of Ocean & Loma), and near a house that was rumored at the time to be owned by Tom Selleck (the next one over, with the high fence)
I was stationed out there (NAB) from 89-92, so drove over to Hotel Del and the beach there on Ocean quite often.
Beautiful area - would love to be able to afford to live there.

I was listening to our local radio host interview the San Diego Sheriff that was working with local PD.
The boy died a few days ago it what appeared to be an accident and the theory she might have been involved and was committing suicide.

Boy was in hospital after fall.
Wife committed suicide after fall, probably from guilt/sadness, IMHO.
