In the early weeks of her presidential run, Michele Bachmann has avoided getting bogged down in the divisive, distracting terrain of social policy.
Gay rights groups say they plan to change that.
Even as Bachmanns tightly-disciplined campaign pivots sharply away from her roots as a social conservative warrior to embrace her newer image as a Tea Party fiscal crusader, gay leaders are looking to drag her back into the fray.
Energized by victory in New York last month, they say Bachmanns campaign will be both the focus of their attention and a useful rallying cry as the presidential campaign hits its stride during the crucial summer of 2011.
The reason: The third-term Minnesota congresswoman and her husband, therapist Marcus Bachmann, have a history of battling gay rights groups in Minnesota long before she stepped onto the national stage.

This issue will severely damage her outside of Iowa. Not saying it should, just that it will.
She’s from Minnesota, not Iowa. And it will damage her to the extent we let it. She needs to handle it well, to be sure. But I’m convinced the homo advance has succeeded only because up till now, good men — and women — have kept silent. We’re silent no more.
The radical gay crowd is acting similar to the radical labor unions, they will screech and scream and make a lot of noise, all under the name of “rights”. They need to be exposed for the ‘radical’ agendas that they promote. They need to be SMEARED BY EXPOSING their own RADICAL AGENDA! - that is the only way to do it!
The men and women who purchased our liberty endured a lot worse than this. If we are to earn the gift they’ve given us, we need to rise to this challenge.
His views are not just anachronistic, they are harmful to children. How, exactly?
Does the lavender mafia really think that their attacking her during the primary process is going to turn conservatives OFF of her? Hell, if you judge a person by who hates or fears them, this is yet another notch in her column imo.
This probably does help MB, being attacked by gays. I am not a supporter of MB needless to say, but am in agreement with MB on the social issues, but MB is only one of many that are on the right side of Christian social issues.
My candidate is on the right side of ALL the issues, Christian social issues included.
The question may only be this? Reports have her denying that the Bachmann clinic try`s to convert Homosexuals to normal.
Has there been a cover up? Why the denials
BTW Dan Bawls NY Times Loves Bachmann, flippin the dial past PMSNBC today, Bawls says MB 4 million bucks raised that was announced on July 15, was very impressive...LOL
______ ______ ______ attacks Bachmann______ ______ ______ targets Bachmann
______ ______ ______ accusess Bachmann
She should not even acknowledge their existence. And she should never sit down at a table with them.
I appreciate that you agree with Bachmann on social issues however you are exactly the kind of person keeping myself and others from flocking to your non-candidate at this point in time.
If we do that, do we have to behave like a**holes just like (some of) you guys, or can we support her w/o dishonestly and unfairly attacking other candidates and their supporters?
She should say (and she won’t):
“As president, I will represent ALL the people, but I will not sacrifice my values or my religious beliefs.
In representing all the American people, a very diverse population, I can not devote a disproportionate amount of time to a very small group of people regardless of how loud they shout. Homosexuals represent 1.9% of our population. They demand special rights and way too much attention. They have acquired way too much political power, mainly in the Democrat party. They force Christians (mainly Catholics) to accept their abortion and gay marriage agenda in return for their political support.
I know with my words I am sacrificing the LGBT vote. I will not sacrifice my values and my religious faith for votes.
I believe that the sexual practices that defines homosexuality is a choice. Many people have made a choice to change their lives and leave the homosexual lifestyle. Many with the help of prayer and a faith in God.
As a practicing Christian, who believes the bible is God’s word, I can not ignore the fact that homosexual acts are an “abomination” to God. There are many passages that state this. It can not be disputed.
I will protect the constitutional and legal rights of homosexuals as fervently as I will for every American. I will not allow any illegal discrimination against gays.
I will not allow 1.9% of the population to control to control the policies or agenda of the other 98.1% of Americans.”
I consider that a plus for Bachmann! She’s obviously on the right track.
“She should just ignore them.”
Or send them her husband’s business card.
Tweek.
“Shes one of the two most hated women in America...”
Counting Casey Anthony, make that three.
“The men and women who purchased our liberty endured a lot worse than this. If we are to earn the gift theyve given us, we need to rise to this challenge.”
Agreed.
Bachmann’s done the RIGHT thing.
We can stand on this side with her and Lady Liberty.
...or on the other side with some guy in a dress.
Where? In liberal big cities and blue states that would never vote Republican anyway?
For the first part of your question? You refer to my candidate as a non-candidate...If others decide to get in the race unusually early, who`s fault is that?
So a person gets in the race early...saying I have dibs because I was in first? That may be the case at the playground, but in real life?
as far as me being a a** hole or not, why would you hold that against Gov Palin?
No I am not a big supporter of MB for various reasons, Rollins, and comments by MB herself. Her judgment is just very poor IMHO, just the idea that she would even consider a run against Gov Palin, says a lot.
So if anything good has come of a MB run, we have learned a thing or 2 about her character, so this is good, there is still time. However I think her ill advised run will have lasting negative consequences, she may do enough damage to be a real spoiler.
So I ask the question, is there any truth to the reports that MB has DENIED her clinic tries to put gays on the straight and narrow?
Why would she DENY good works such as these? Does it give us a window into what she is willing to do or say to win?
Combine that with taking subsidies etc and one has to wonder.
Not to mention shouting from the rooftops her claims that she “RAISED” 23 foster children. It would have come across better if they had other folks talk of good deeds etc. Listening to MB say I did this and I did that, does not come across very attractively.
And lets not forget about her interview with the Christian Post prior to her announcing...
Question? If you decide not to run, is there anyway you could see yourself supporting a Palin candidacy? MB refused to answer the question.
Keep in mind all that Gov Palin did for her, such as possibly put her over the top in a tough MINN re election AND all the money she raised for MB.
But I think it would be really childish/un fair to not be willing to support a great candidate because you feel some of her supporters (that she does not even know) may or may not be (as you say) a** holes

Gays have tried to have it both ways, they want to be seen as cute, loveable and kind, while at the same time they tear to shreds anyone who dares to disagree with them. I think they are showing the sheeple that they are really very scary. The twenty years of pro-gay propaganda is starting to melt away....”But that gay guy on Will and Grace was so nice”, so many boob-tube followers must be thinking.
Gays just can’t help themselves. They are so disturbed that sooner or later it is going to show.
I knew there was something about her that I liked. I have already sent her my donation, I only wished that I had more to give.
