I hate to think what Perry would do with federal power...probably give illegals the key to the US Treasury.

MEXICO CITY Leading a large delegation of Texas executives trying to drum up business in Mexico, Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday criticized the U.S. Congress for failing to pass an immigration bill that would legalize millions of workers. I dont think this is that difficult an issue if Congress would have the maturity to sit down and really discuss it and cut out all the mean rhetoric, Perry said during a break in the third day of meetings with Mexican officials and business executives. Could it be that it’s because you are deliberately taking things out of context?
A lot of Republicans still support globalization - as to a lot of FReepers - because they do not understand that a "global economy" must lead to transnational political institutions with real powers.
And, since the US Constitution makes ceding power to transnational institutions impossible, the US Constitution is going to have to go.
Texas and Mexico are destined to be involved with each other. The governor of Texas is NEVER going to be openly hostile to Mexico or Mexicans. Whoever it is, from whatever party. Just not...going...to...happen.
So, trying to figure out where Perry is on IMF, WHO, BIS, World Court and all that other crap based on his attitude re: Mexico is probably a mistake.
I'm really afraid that Perry is a tranzi stealth missile aimed at Sarah Palin.
I don't know that much about him, though, and would like to know more.
