“The Undefeated” Documentary Premieres to Packed Atlanta Theater, Enthusiastic Audience
Digital Journal ^ | July 16, 2011 | PRWEB.COM Newswire

The Georgia-based Volunteering4Palin organization announced the opening show of the new film, The Undefeated, experienced robust ticket sales on Friday night at the AMC Barrett Commons 24 Theatre in Kennesaw, GA. Many groups worked together to raise awareness of the film, which they believe is a must-see for every American, regardless of whether people are Palin supporters, and regardless of political party affiliations.

According to Mark Wohlers, the former Atlanta Braves pitcher who stood on the mound as Atlanta won its first World Series Championship, “I’ve been fascinated with Governor Palin since she entered the national stage. I believe that if she decided to run for President it would be for all the right reasons, so I wanted to see this movie. There has been so much media distortion that it’s difficult to know what to believe. I encourage everyone to come see the movie, forget everything you’ve heard, and decide for yourself. I’m a big fan.”

One politically active teenager that attends Woodland High School in Henry County, Sousaan Guyton, encouraged eighteen of her friends on FaceBook to attend. According to Rob Cunningham, founder of Georgia based Volunteering4Palin, “There is a nationally powerful, grassroots enthusiasm level among teenagers. He added, "Sousaan and her friends really connected with Sarah Palin and her story. They wanted to know why they had never learned these facts before tonight.” Sousaan is one of approximately nine-hundred members of Youth4Palin, a national volunteer organization founded and directed under the leadership of Elizabeth Hawkes.

Sahar Hekmati, an original Tea Party member, Georgia GOP Chairman for the 13th Congressional District and President of National Conservative Republican Women, contacted everyone she knew to attend one of this week's premier showings. Mrs. Hekmati said, “I read “Going Rogue,” and I strongly believe Sarah is absolutely prepared for the very serious challenges our nation faces.” She went on to say, “I especially want women to attend this movie, because I know they will relate to the events in Sarah’s life.” Hekmati emphasized, “This movie is a great way for people to understand how politics really works.”

Victory Film Group and Stephen K. Bannon's latest, The Undefeated, starring Mark Levin, Tammy Bruce, and Andrew Breitbart is in town for a limited engagement, opening this Friday, July 15th, at the AMC Theatres - Barrett Commons 24 at 2600 Cobb Place Lane Northwest.

Documenting Gov. Sarah Palin's rise from small town mom to national firebrand, the movie profiles the woman who became the nation's most popular governor and set the stage for a country-wide discussion on the government's role in our lives.

Director Steve Bannon said that if the 10 theaters manage 1200 tickets per site, AMC will spread it to 1000 markets. He said that he’s betting that it will go nationwide, so most of the country will have a chance to see it - probably starting sometime in August. If someone misses it in the Theaters, Bannon has a deal with WalMart for DVDs and is setting a pay-per-view for home

It’s going to open in more theaters so maybe one will be closer to you and yes there will be home DVD at some point.

I go to certain sites every day to look at box office numbers, and there is NOTHING, but NOTHING about “The Undefeated,” except that the 12:01 a.m. showing in Orange County was empty.

Nothing about “real” screenings (i.e., showtime people with jobs can attend.)

There were numbers available for “Atlas Shrugged,” another limited release film, almost immediately a few months ago.

My theory: “The Undefeated” is selling out and everyone is sitting on the numbers until they can figure out a way to spin it into failure.

If no one was going, we’d be seeing that in twenty point headline type on every industry website.

Duh, yesterday was first release date, check the papers tomorrow for a report. Do not think it was one of those tv stop the press things.

Bannon could make a deal with the Robinsons so they could give the DVD with a donation of “whatever”..

I’m keeping an eye on ‘Box Office Mojo’...their weekend listings always include dozens of independent films and documentaries that play in as few as ONE theater...’The Undefeated’ is in ten. If they fail to list it; we will KNOW something is ‘up’...

Did you just “duh” me? Really? Where are you going for your thirteenth birthday? Laser Tag or the Skate Park?

Box office information is immediately available now, hours after a movie is released. So is advance ticket sale information. Both readily available online.

Nobody checks “the papers.” They are days behind. It’s all about the internet now. You know, that machine you look at boobies on while your parents are at work.

The fact that neither has appeared yet says agenda to me.

Not a standard movie, not a standard movie, not a standard movie, the movie industry does not give a fig. Repeat one more time not a standard movie. How many theaters will really show it, not many, they are private for profit business. And if you do not understand that you get two duh’s.

By “not a standard movie,” I’m assuming you mean A) A political documentary and B) A limited release. And you are dead wrong to assert that the movie industry doesn’t “give a fig” about these types of movies.

Hollywood is intensely interested in how any film with a national, albeit limited, release fares. AMC is a national theater chain, and they’ve booked “The Undefeated.” (And yes, they’re a “private for profit business,” although what point you’re trying to make by remarking on that, I’m unable to figure out.)

From such limited releases giant mainstream hits are sometimes born. See: “Roger and Me.” They are observing “The Undefeated” very closely. And if you don’t understand that (and you don’t), you know nothing about the motion picture business.

“Roger and Me” was a political documentary that blew up at the box office and made a gazillion dollars — Sigh. Never mind. I give up. Bye-bye, thread.

LOL, from 1995 to 2011, the market share for documentaries was 0001.10%, the average gross was 2 million dollars, there were 910 documentaries made in that time frame. Yes, people in the business are on pins and needles keeping up with this large share of the market.

No you forgot your sense of humor, note I said nothing about the poster using that fat liberal grease balls movie as an example of a wonderful documentary. And the money he made was from selling the rights to the damn thing, not from people watching it. The people that bought it lost money, can you spell tax write off.
