To: Wonder Warthog
This is a play that was discovered by a geologist working for one of the big boys back in the 1970’s. As I recall it runs from around the Baton Rouge area to the Texas state line and it's extremely deep, maybe 15,000 ft.

The geologist started his own company and began buying up leases in what he considered the best drilling areas. This is the first I've heard of it in quite some time.

Tuscaloosa Trend is a wonderful producing sandstone. I’ll wager that the adjacent shale is the source rock. A tight formation that is going to be fracked.

I own the mineral rights to a little piece of land in the Tuscaloosa Trend, as it was called in the 1970’s, when I acquired it. It has been leased out and been paying a tidy sum every month for about 35 years now and shows no sign of letting up.
