“has told the White House he sees no need to go to Camp David this weekend,”
Good.

Seems to me that ZERO wants to control the message and the only way to do it is sequester everyone....good that the pubbies didn't fall for it. I hope this latest move provides more steel for their (pubbie) backbones.

I wonder if this really is quite a drama playing out in our time.
Bernyakme is joining in on the scare tactics and trying to TARP this all over again. Imminent collapse and all that. The local financial pundit here in Houston has been trying to make this a case of true default as a result of not raising the debt ceiling. It is a crisis but the company ain’t broke, the company (Federal Govenrment) is going to have to really scale back to satisfy the lending agency... the electorate. Once the company does that the lending agency will provide it room to move and recover... not until.

This is good; there is no reason to make the GOP feel beholden by pretending to be a magnanimous host for a getaway weekend. Sounds like a power move. Jerk.

A good start, but he needs to EXPLAIN to the American people WHY this is a colossal waste of time, and why he's not going. They are only going to get media and WH spin so he'd best made it clear and concise...please, no big words.
I say call a press conference and give it to Mr. Dithers with both barrels.

Boehner is stepping up - great.
I’m thinking that the interesting thing here is that Camp David is really on the POTUS side of the fence so why go there and be stuck there for the entire weekend?

"The White House had been weighing the idea of Camp David talks but no decision had been made and White House aides said there were "currently no plans for that."Um, we don't know what Boehner is talking about, yeah, that's the ticket! We didn't say anything about Camp David, yeah... How can he say no to something we didn't even have plans for?! Yeah, that's it! The nerve of the Senate leader inviting himself and then declining his own invitation... yeah...

I think you are seeing the pubbies getting a spine lately because of the following things:
1. The seriously of the situation
2. It is against the their/constituent principles
3. The incompetance of Hussien and his administration
4. The dangerous beliefs of the administration
5. The stability of Hussien
I think that the last 3 items have become more and more clear in the past year and especially since the GOP won the House. I bet Boyner and other Repubs are seeing, first hand, an unstable man in the White House. They should not deal with him.
