It is moments like this that crystallize an issue in the public mind. The 1995 budget impasse was all Inside Baseball, with no clear villian, until the story became about how Newt Gingrich was upset because he had to leave by the back door of Air Force One.
After that, Newt Gingrich was the crybaby and Bill Clinton was the responsible adult. The Republicans got blamed for everything, and Newt Gingrich’s carreer was over.

In every picture of zer0 showing how ugly his posterior is, the person(s) to whom he's bowing are laughing at him. He is a monumental, humiliated failure, and it's too dang bad that algor was right about there being "no controlling legal authority" that can rein in this abomination.
It won’t shut down, they’ll just use direct authorization in lieu of a budget. All a budget does is authorize spending in particular areas. The same can be done with direct authorization from Executive branch and there’s nothing in the Constitution preventing the Executive from issuing orders for funding.
He’ll just direct OMB to spend as the Dems see fit.
The house has already passed a budget - which is dead-on-arrival because of the senate. Whatever the outcome - it has to be a “deal” which both sides are going to find dis-tasteful. Both need to give - but what is going to be the successful formula?
What I hate to do here is defend BO - but the fact is that the Republicans have got up and left a few times too. We just focus on what makes BO look bad and wear blinders when our side does.

Very interesting....I have seen that behavior as well though they were escorted from the room before they had any opportunity to collapse.
I think when people do this it shocks those who have difficulty grasping the outburst is even happening. It’s like when an earthquake strikes....takes a few moments for the reality to set in that “this one” isn’t going to pass any time soon.
