Actually males hear females quite well when they say the right words.

Nicely put, but in fact, true.

I immediately hear the voices of my family's female members, but only certain combinations of words will get me to "lock on" and continue to listen.

When they talk just to keep themselves busy, or some such other nonsense, I just tune out, and go back to my work.
