"President Barack Obama tops all leading GOP White House hopefuls, hitting the all- important 50-percent mark against every candidate but Romney: 47 - 41 percent over Romney, unchanged from June 8; 50 - 38 percent over Bachmann, who was not matched against Obama June 8; 53 - 34 percent over Sarah Palin, compared to 53 - 36 percent June 8; 50 - 37 percent over Perry, who was not matched against Obama June 8. "Gov. Mitt Romney remains ahead of the GOP presidential pack as U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann has zoomed into second place," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "With almost a dozen candidates and most of them not very well known, even to GOP activists, Gov. Romney's lead remains. Gov. Rick Perry, who is still a maybe candidate, breaks into double-digits and runs fourth, an indication that he could be a serious contender should he run."

"Among independent voters, Romney tops Obama 42 - 40 percent. But Obama leads among independents, a key voting group: 46 - 36 percent over Perry; 43 - 40 percent over Bachmann; 50 - 33 percent over Palin."

Looks like Bachmann is still headed the right direction.
Perry's vaunted electability may be overstated. His numbers vs Obama, and among independents is a little better than Palin, but not as strong as Bachmann.
If she wins how about Palin for AG.
50 - 38 percent over Bachmann, who was not matched against Obama June 8; 53 - 34 percent over Sarah Palin
Bachmann does better than Palin against him? Gonna be some open wrists over this today.
She’d be better at Energy.
“Looks like Bachmann is still headed the right direction.”
Of the announced candidates she combines the most outspoken conservative positions with actual experience in Washington. Whether she is one’s candidate of choice or not, this is a good trend for conservatives.
No sleep lost over a Quinnipiac poll...
If she wins how about Palin for AG.

After the Rollins stunt I do not think you are going to see these two cooperating at a personal level again. They are both politicians though so I could well be wrong.
Bachmann has balls.
Maybe it’s because I run in conservative circles, but I have never, nope never, heard a solitary soul express excitement over Romney. I think he is the media’s Dole or McCain.
Quinnipiac is run a big lib named Carroll. Paradoxically, his son is a rock solid conservative Republican, pro-Second Amendment, anti-tax and anti-abortion. His name is Michael Patrick Carroll and he is a state representative from New Jersey.
I was actually polled once by Quinnipiac. Its a biased poll with deliberately slanted questions which attempt to lead the respondent in the direction the pollster wants them to go.
1) Quinnapiac. 'Nuff said.
2) We're still WAY to far out for "horserace" polls to matter at all.
3) Bachmann isn't going to win anything, no matter what this poll says. Most of her total simply reflects anti-Romney sentiment, not pro-Bachmann.
4) The fact that Romney fares so poorly against Bachmann, however, is interesting. This poll says a lot more about Romney than anything else.
Quinnipac University? Is that like Miskatonic University?
Bachmann is surging for very good reasons and Americans understand those reasons all too well. Despite the MSM and GOP attempting to shove their socialists down our throats, Bachmann is shining...and possibly shining brighter in reaction to the “elite” trying to tell voters what to do.
She is a real conservative and will repeal DeathCare and help realign America with her long-time and faithful allies in the world. She will be god for America and the world in general.
god=good in 13...sorry.
Her numbers can be explained very simply. She has gathered in the former Huckabee supporters. It’s pretty much a done deal.
Yes, they are located in the Northeast, but - unlike other pollsters - they have absolutely no statement attached to these results concerning the poll's methodology. They don't even say whether all respondents were US citizens.
My guess is that whatever technique they used, they oversampled Dummycrats.
If she wins how about Palin for AG.”
A lot of times, Presidents like to appoint attorneys to that position....
“Bachmann does better than Palin against him?”
Yep.
And take a close look at the breakdown for the all-important independents:
Perry down 10.
Palin down 17.
Bachmann within the margin of error ALREADY!
Ed Rollins has no first place strategy.
That doesn't stop those who want to believe.
