Sen. John McCain accused President Obama of using scare tactics by saying that he cannot guarantee older Americans will continue to receive their Social Security checks if there is no deal to raise the debt ceiling.
The president has now gone from the blame game to the scare game, McCain said Tuesday in an interview on CNNs In The Arena. It's really, really unfortunate and it's demagoguery.
The Arizona Republican said he agrees with statements made on the Senate floor Tuesday by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who said as long as this president is in the Oval Office, a real solution is probably unattainable.
McCain acknowledged, however, that there would be serious consequences if a deals not reached by August 2. He pointed out that the stock market would implode if a deal is not reached.
I mean people's savings would be dramatically reduced because the markets would tank. McCain added, The good faith and credit of the United States of America is called into serious question. The consequences are incredibly serious.

You know “Ears” has gone over the top when even McInsane can see it!
I thought I heard Boehner acknowledge the debt ceiling will be raised, but we’re not along for the tax increase ride.
So ...the reality is the democrats are the hold out, they are the obstacle in the road ...
Thank God for John McCain. What leadership!
/s and a double barf bag alert.
How is the scenario McCain is describing any less scary?
You cost yourself the election by drinking the TARP koolaid.
I don't give a rat's a$$ about the next "end of the world" prediction from your sorry Republicrat soul.
Just bite me.
Once again McCain cannot close a sale. He stupidly refuses to point out that the Treasury will have plenty of money coming in, and if SS checks are not cut, it is Obama’s decision.
This idiot did the same thing on Greta last night.
Calling it an empty threat is fine, but for God’s sake, tell people why.
Things must be worse than we think. They are worried they can’t hold this ponzi scheme together much longer.
I get bone weary at the sight of McCain’s name.
The ball is in HIS court, as they say.
Let it crash then. He [obama is going to crash it sooner or later, might as well be now.
Me, too.
What’s really troublesome is that Romney (who couldn’t even beat McCain in the primaries) is now leading the field for the GOP nomination for 2012.
The GOP has fallen to new lows.
And Romney won’t even take a position on the debt ceiling.
At this point Senator, there are larger issues than what does or does not happen to the stock market.
Scheduled for debate on senate floor today..

Oh Really?
"He is a decent person, and a person that you do not have be scared as President of the United States"...
McCain is the politician who inflicted this psychopath upon us. I for one remember those on the right predicting EXACTLY the type of president he would be...and I remember the shameful, Alinsky rhetoric erupting from President Wannabe Dick...and McCain telling those on the right to "be respectful."
Thank you for your service, Senator McCain...now retire to Arizona and keep tabs on Megan.
