House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican, and Sen. Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican, ripped Attorney General Eric Holder again in another Monday letter.
The top Republicans investigating the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Operation Fast and Furious also blasted Holder for allegations that he allowed his Justice Department to skew potential witnesses by prepping them with access to background information.
In this new letter, Issa and Grassley name 12 senior Justice Department political officials they believe may have been involved in the decision which allowed guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. They asked Holder to provide all records relating to communications between those 12 individuals regarding Operation Fast and Furious.
As our investigation into Operation Fast and Furious has progressed, we have learned that senior officials at the Department of Justice (DOJ), including Senate-confirmed political appointees, were unquestionably aware of the implementation of this reckless program, Grassley and Issa wrote to Holder. Therefore it is necessary to review communications between and among these senior officials.
Obama administration officials Issa and Grassley named in their letter were:
Deputy Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Blanco
Deputy Assistant Attorney General Jason Weinstein
Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Keeney
Associate Deputy Attorney General Matt Axelrod
Former Associate Deputy Attorney General Ed Siskel
Gary Grindler in the Office of the Attorney General
Brad Smith, in the office of the Deputy Attorney General
Kevin Carwile, section chief of the Capital Case Unit
Joseph Cooley, in the Criminal Fraud Section
The records Issa and Grassley are requesting include emails, memos, briefing papers and handwritten notes. They also requested any records concerning any large weapons trafficking cases within ATF or in Phoenix. The deadline they gave Holder is July 18 at noon. (Grassley, Issa slam Holder again: Are you skewing witnesses?)
Operation Fast and Furious and Project Gunrunner were ATF programs the administration aimed at stopping guns from getting into the hands of criminals in Mexico.
With Operation Fast and Furious, Obama administration officials permitted straw purchasers to buy guns and then to sell them to Mexican drug cartels with the goal of tracking the flow of arms to determine how the market functioned. The program backfired with criminals ending up getting guns.
Most egregiously, two U.S. Border Patrol agents were killed by drug cartels using Operation Fast and Furious guns.
Only a record in archive Of Obama ignoring Issa’s doc requests/subpoena’s

We know Obama is a malignant fool. But is he stupid enough to do gun control by executive order? While running for reelection?
Also the Administration talks about tracing the guns once they were in Mexico. Would someone please tell me where they can get an agent insane enough to follow guns into Mexico that are going to the Drug Cartels. That would be an act of suicide. The agent would be horribly tortured and then executed.
These Guns did exactly what the Obama Administration wanted. They killed Americans and this would be the excuse for an assault on the Second Amendment. The only problem is they were caught. This rises far above high crimes and misdemeanors.
Here is a pretty good timeline...
A year ago we wouldn’t even have had hearings.
And Grassley said he’d “support” an independent prosecutor. Why the hell won’t he CALL FOR ONE? Does Obozo’s dirt squad have something on him too??
>>Would someone please tell me where they can get an agent insane enough to follow guns into Mexico that are going to the Drug Cartels.<<
You buy info from an informant and then verify it through another informant.
>>Why the hell wont he CALL FOR ONE? <<
Because as of yet, they don’t plan on charging anyone with criminal acts.
Put zer0 on trial, all in favor of impeaching a democrat every time they reach the office
Well it seems Melton suspected something criminal was afoot or he wouldn’t have shown up with HIS personal attorney in defiance of Holder’s instructions to go in with a DOJ landshark.
This whole thing smells worse than Watergate and we know how that ended.
Yes and no. Something different is happening here. The fact the Establishment Republicans have never challenged Zero about his eligibility tells me not to be encouraged about this foot stomping, table pounding public display of dissatisfaction. I am not confident that Issa will actually go after Holder in a serious manner, one that could result in his internment within a federal guest house.
The murder of an informant would be even worse than an agent if caught. The informant's death would be particularly brutal and prolonged. An informant is the ultimate betrayal to a drug lord. An informant to a drug lord is far worse than an agent. Also if you understand the Latin Culture, you understand that an informant is a personal affront and loss of face for the boss. His demise must be brutal long and vicious.
So true, so true. Painful, extended and horrific.
>>The murder of an informant would be even worse than an agent if caught.<<
In rethinking this I must disagree. If an American dies that affects me personally even if he does happen to be employed by a toilet bowl agency such as the BATFE.
