I had bookmarked this a long time ago. The author's reference to Julian Jaynes' theory of consciousness prompted me to buy his book. His discovery of early man's "bicameral mind" is, for me, an explanation of our gradual descent into a more and more tribal mentality. Kids today are spending their waking hours in constant contact with their "friends" by phone, twitter, Facebook, etc. contributing to a kind of mindlessness that worries me.

When people lack an active faith in God, they fall down the rung of evolution, imo. The tribe, gang, state or any of the dozens of identity groups provide this spiritual placebo.

The inevitable consequence of tribalism is warfare: class vs. class, race vs. race, nation vs. nation. Only when a universal brotherhood of humankind, founded on a living, loving Creator, can provide a bond strong enough to hold humanity together. Globalism tries to hold us all together, but only my mashing the human mind and spirit into pulp.

"To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men, their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas." -- That quote from a UN bigwig says it all. And anyone who values their freedom to choose, to love, and to worship as they see fit ought to be very concerned about what the globalists are attempting to lead us into.
