What do you think ? Governor Palin ? Is she running ? (also vote in the poll inside this posting)

First, I have absolutely no inside track (despite what some may think) but I am guessing Governor Sarah Palin is running for President in 2012. Basis for my guess ? First, she has never said no. In fact, she told me in an interview about 8 weeks ago, and this remark has been repeated by other journalists to her and by her, she has the “fire in her belly” interest in running. This is not a yes, and it is not a no but leans more in the yes direction. In that interview I tried to get a more definitive answer out of her as to whether she is running or not but only got admission of “fire in the belly.” Second, we have not heard much from her since her bus tour which makes me suspicious that she is gearing up (but just a guess…maybe she is doing something else? writing another book? spending time with her family? ) Third, as the days go on, some of the declared Republican candidates are having a few troubles – whether it be a gaffe or troubles raising money. This must be tempting to a politician looking at the race and who has not said no. Fourth, I read in the Des Moines Register that there are Palin volunteers – not from a Palin organization – all over the ground in Iowa. Fifth, there seems to be a media strategy – two weeks ago a documentary about her time as Governor opened in Iowa and then yesterday the cover story in Newsweek Magazine hit the newsstands. Sixth, she has already gone through the media digging into her life and past which discourages many politicians. Seventh, are there any signs she is not running other than that she is not physically in Iowa and has not declared a candidacy?

What do you think? Is she running? or not? (*take the poll)

After her movie is out of the theaters and on the shelves at Wal-Mart, that's when she'll announce.

You can't go by traditional models of campaigning. The only thing traditional about Sarah Palin are her values. Everything else, she's doing her own way.

Reagan was first and foremost a Conservative. He supported Conservative ideas regardless of whether they were popular. The “rights and interests of ordinary people” is so ambiguous as to be absurd and meaningless. All politicians spew those empty words. Even Obama, Ted Kennedy and Reverend Wright claimed to be an advocate of ordinary people.

The real distinction between being a populist and a Conservative (or liberal for that matter) is whether you will stand on unpopular principles based on ideology in the face of majority opposition. Reagan did in supporting the Contras, Judge Bork, being against abortion and in cutting government programs.

She is waiting....learning....guarding the "cubs"....staying mostly quiet with an occasional "roar".....reconning the enemies from within and without.....studying weaknesses....practicing....endlessly practicing....reading...recognizing strengths....finding vulnerabilities....

Patience.....patience....

Wait for it!

And keep the faith....

When "it" occurs....I cannot wait to see the faces of the likes of the "nose in the air, simpering kraut-hamer, the "oh so superior" traitor rove, the "know it all", meglomaniac o'reilly, and the moon faced, lisping little dicky morris!!! It will have been worth the wait!

But as General Patton said, "If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking." And if ever there were a group of worthless kloned non-thinking deadheads, it's this group.

Who gives a rat's @ss what they look like? This isn't a "I knew best" contest.

Please answer this question. What will you do if she makes the decision not to run?

The same you will do if Perry doesn't run.

Reagan was a democrat first. He turned to the gop in his later years as he saw his dem party being taken over by the liberals. his beliefs were rooted in the founding documents and self rule. a populist position. he believed in federalism another populist position. He raised taxes, supported amnesty etc. his enitre belief was based on the populist theme that man can rule himself and government is not the answer part the problem. He believed in the people.

conservative during the 1776 era meant you supported the King. the British considered the founders populists.

the real distinction between a populist and a conservative is at what place in history you look at the leaders of the people over the establishment. what was populism in 1980 is now considered conservatism.

what was considered populism in 1776 is now considered constitutional conservatism.

i guess you missed that whole in the last 5 years thing. And AK in 2010 as well as AK in 2111 is still under ACEs the main income producing agent for the government in AK since they have no inome tax, sales tax or state wide property tax.

Nothing vague about it, you are running around screaming because Palin has not formally announced, yet at the same time you are promoting Perry, who isn’t a candidate either.

It is strange behavior on your part, neither one of them are declared candidates.

This is the first thread that I've engaged posters on this topic. If that's running around, I guess you define it differently than I do.

Perry has spent about a month investigating a run and will announce soon or not at all. It won't turn into a burlesque show.

I have posted a considerable number of threads supporting and defending Sarah Palin. I have earned the right to express my feelings about her behavior in this primary decision.

Maybe. Not sure of the timeframe for the movie. They may hold the movie back for the holiday shopping season.

Palin has been running for three years, has a national bus tour (still in place), a recent book, a movie due out in days, a cover on Newsweek, and is in contact with her Iowa organization and a personal appearance there only last week or so.

Palin is looking more like a candidate than Perry.

Most assuredly, I will not "sit out" the election. Even a "marginal - at best" or an "of little use" rino is far and away superior to another four years of the stain and his regime.

Question answered??

Sarah Palin needs to do something SOON or she will alienate a lot of people who have supported her,

Yep and they will vote for Usama in spite. Got it.

You started in on Palin with your third post at freerepublic. “ <<<<

Yes, Sarah lost me in the Couric interview. When a common no brainer question of what one reads put Sarah in a permanent snit, I was gone. It’s was much for her. Definitly it was too much for me.

So today you jump up and yell that Palin has lost you, now you admit that she never had you.

Like I said, trolls are not honest.

Sarah had everyone for certain at the convention, where she was starburst personified and all were sprinkled with her stardust. Eventually you have to live and function in the real world. When she entered the real world, Couric exposed her unreadiness for thinking on your feet with the simplest of questions, “what do you read?”. If you think about it, Obama had a similar effect among his viewers and voters also, except he didn’t fall apart and was intimidated by no one. He was able to keep the stardust airborne.
