EL-ARISH, Egypt Masked gunmen on Tuesday blew up a terminal of the Egyptian natural gas pipeline to Israel and Jordan in a predawn attack, security officials said.
They said the attack was carried out by at least four assailants. The terminal is located at the city of El-Arish in the northern part of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula some 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of the Israeli border.
The attackers ordered the guards on duty to leave and then blew up the terminal, starting a huge fire that sent flames shooting up and lighting the night sky, according to the officials. There were no casualties, they said.

It blew up reeeeal good.
And so, it begins.....
And so it continues.....
Until the last muslim is buried the, planet shall suffer.
All the more reason for Israel to accelerate production of it’s oil and gas reserves.
Seems to be a weekly event.
This isn’t the first time they’ve done that.
Israel really has no choice but to take back the Sinai. I expect they will move in with full force to little or no resistance. The global pointy-heads will howl and stamp their feet and then fade away. It will be 100 years before Israel ever gives it up again.
Why are they “masked gunmen” when in reality, they are “masked bombers”? Doesn’t one sort of trump the other?
OMG...They've not only stopped the flow of gas going in one direction, BUT the flow money in the other direction...
But they, personally, were not getting paid for the gas or getting paid off, so they blew it up. So, was this simple-minded terrorism or the result of a protection racket gone bad?
IIRC, this is the third time this pipeline has been bombed.
The protection racket angle is a good one.
Back when we were entering Iraq I proposed paying Iraqi families/tribes/communities to guard a portion of the pipelines and critical infrastructure and paying them a portion of the proceeds moved through said point, thus incentivizing a large swath of the Iraqi population to keep the oil or whatever flowing. This could be applied to many critical infrastructures.
It wasn’t ever tried. This could also work in the remote areas of Afghanistan and is sometimes used, but inconsistently.
The Dept. of State doesn’t believe in capitalism or individual liberty. It would have saved us a lot of money and blood. They made it impossible for entrepreneurs to even operate to restore services. It all had to come from government.

How is a bankrupt socialist country supposed to get the wherewithal to invade and occupy land that is larger than what is presently under their control?
How does this work out in your head? What do you do with all of the Egyptian nationals that have their homes and businesses in the Sinai? Just walk in and say in Hebrew "You are an Israeli now." or just kill all half million of them if they don't make themselves international refugees?
The peninsula's only real value is that it borders the canal and attracts tourists. How exactly is the economy of the Sinai going to be helped with an overwhelming military invasion? What will this do to the hearts and minds of the somewhat complacent in Egypt who were looking for any reason at all to avoid war? With an invasion, you have tens of millions of Egyptians fighting mad, and you have a billion Muslims who now have a cause of action.
If Israel is having a difficult time just managing to keep liberal retards on private yachts forming a "flotilla" and causing a scene, how does violating international treaties and engaging in expensive armed invasion supposed to work?
The global pointy-heads will howl and stamp their feet...
Really? Invade and conquer 23,000 square miles of difficult terrain and cities filled with tourists and SCUBA divers? It wouldn't be just the global pointy-heads, it will be rag heads, skin heads and every head of State weighing in.
They blew up Jordan? I’m actually more worried about the gas pipeline...
