ABC News Confirms Bachmann Clinic Used "Pray Away The Gay' Therapy

An ABC News story tonight confirmed rumors that the Christian counseling clinic owned by Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann and her husband Marcus Bachmann offered therapy to help "convert" homosexuals to heterosexuals. The "World News" report featured an interview with a former patient at the Bachmann & Associates clinic, Andrew Ramirez, who first visited the counseling center as a 17-year-old in 2004.

"[One counselor's] path for my therapy would be to read the Bible, pray to God that I would no longer be gay," Ramirez told ABC News. "And God would forgive me if I were straight."

Ramirez story, first reported by The Nation, is backed up by an undercover video at the clinic, which shows a counselor telling a gay man that he can be "totally free" of his homosexual feelings through prayer and hard work.

Mr. Bachmann has previously denied that his clinic offers "ex-gay" treatments, known as reparative therapy. The American Psychiatric Association does not condone the practice, and has said it might have potentially harmful mental health consequences.

Not sure what you mean, leftist crap. I think you misunderstood me. I was trying to point out that the American Psychiatrist Association want to charge money to not cure a problem, that Bachman is successfully curing for free. I believe that trying to help people trapped in a gay lifestyle being called bad IS leftist crap, that the APA is on-board with the leftist crap is my point.

I applaud Bachman for helping people, and respect her for doing so without milking it for political points. My opinion for her has gone up considerably.

The American Psychiatrist Association should be a Politicaly neutral group, but obviously is not. I would point out that the success rate of the APA vs the Christian Church in freeing people from the destructive homosexual lifestyle is appalling. Psychiatrists are woefully inept. It is funny that they, of all subjects would not touch this issue with a ten foot pole. But then, hatred of morality seems to draw them out like bears to beehives.

I would believe that Obama has “a cult of personality” because I have seen the teenagers swoon in the front rows. I however think that with Palin it is a Cult of IDEA’s, not personality. Not once have I ever seen any people swoon in her meetings.

Note that in the case of Obama they say they love his idea's of Hope or Change, but cannot define what that change is, or what they are hoping for. Nor has he accomplished a single thing that the Obama followers can point to and understand enough to discuss with any logic or reason. Every thing is based on emotion. But with the pro Palin people you ask them and they come up with all kinds of things that she has said that they like. They end up discussing issues, not the person. This is a clear indication that the people that follow Palin’s political moves are not a personality cult.

The funny thing is that the term “Cult of Personality” applied to Palin is right out of the Obama party talking points. Those who tend to knowingly quote it tend to be the very Cult members they distain because they have never thought out the point that they are mindlessly repeating. It is, after all, one of the signs of cultish behavior.
