Back door censorship...no doubt that all liberal authors will be getting one of the infamous obama "waivers" to this rule. They won't need a waiver. Notice that Obama said, best selling authors.

Yeah! Nail him to the cross!
Another day, another enemy of the state. What a bizzaro world this bastard is creating.

“I think these actions are the manifestation of long-held hatreds and resentments towards “da man” and anything successful.”
You may be right. The attitude amongst many of those he community organized is “whitey’s got it...”

I agree with you. Rush was saying it was aimed at someone like Vince Flynn. I doubt anyone in the WH (especially Zero) knows who Vince Flynn is. However, they are obsessed with Beck. So, I agree -— aimed at Glenn Beck.

And we weren't letting hedge fund managers or authors of best-selling books off the hook. Has he mentioned wealthy politicians yet, especially the Democrats?

I've never heard of a President of the United States taking aim at such things as tanning salons, best selling authors and ATM machines. He needs something to take up his time between golf rounds. Me neither. He seems to have the attention span of a three year old.He must be brought back over and over again to the fact that we are out of money. The solution is to cut the spending. Now.
What is the value of Free Republic?

Obama doesn’t even make sense any more.
Where does he think his fortune came from. If he wants to give his money to the Government all he has to do is write a check.
Steven King said we have tried dumb and it didn’t work out so well.
Hey Steve— A-hole -—Now we have tried Dumber, and that aint working so good either.

Doesn’t Ireland provide a tax haven for authors? I’m sure I read somewhere that Forsythe and others had taken advantage of such laws. I’d be surprised if tax advisors hadn’t helped identify shelters for many of “our guys/gals”

I agree that Obama's reference to raising taxes on 'best selling authors' was likely a dig at Glenn Beck. Of course, Obama is just doing the ancient liberal Democrat song and dance routine, i.e. 'I'll ONLY raise taxes on the filthy rich SOBs that all you ignorant yahoos are supposed to hate" Yeah, right.

Did Stalin reduce the standard of living for those who were part of his propaganda machine? Either Obama is stupid or he's ready to hand out waivers to all those best selling authors who kiss his hand.

Today I heard for the first time a Dem mention the tax cuts that people of modest income have experienced ever since President Bush lowered tax rates for
all income tax payers. Up to now all I've ever heard Dems and the enemedia say was "tax cuts for the rich." Now Obama is passing the blame for the $1000 or so that medium income people will pay in additional taxes if Republicans don't let him keep the tax cuts he (LLPonF) passed into law this year. The man lies constantly and is protected by the evil media.
Could the TEA party be the third party we need? We already have the evil party and the stupid party.

AP: Obama’s trillion-dollar tax hike would hit low- and middle-income families...
WOW! If the AP is actually blowing Barry in like that, it’s just about Game Over for him.

Obama concluded, "we're not looking to raise taxes right now" -- just in 2013 and 2014. How convenient that taxes will be raised starting two months after the 2012 Presidential elections.
