As long as he pays for it himself I don’t care what Ryan drinks. At least he’s not on some Air Force jet he commandeered eating and drinking on the taxpayers dime.
I thought I was cheap... my wine comes from twist top
bottles with an picture of an older Italian guy on the label...
Don’t be ridiculous.
I am not a real wine expert, but I would like to know what makes one bottle cost $20, and the other cost $350. Sometime, I want to taste some $350 wine and see if you can actually tell it from a $20 brand..........jus’ sayin....
” Courvoisier cognac .. “
No Remy Martin?
The pikers!
Given that Pelosi was our first madame House Speaker and the most successful one in history passing hundreds of bills that never even made it into law (those worthless men Obama and Reid didnt hold up their end), a tiny $2M for these official sounding Pelosi friend and family vacation trips is just a drop in the bucket.
Beohner could only dream of passing so many bills that never got into law like Pelosi did.
Are you for real? Ryan isn't living off of us, he was elected...he gets a salary and he paid for the wine with his own money. Once the government cuts him a check it belongs to Ryan alone, not us. However, as many of the articles on this subject tell us....Nancy Pelosi sucked up booze on our dime...over $100thousand dollars worth.
I might have missed your comment, but you were taken to task (and rightly so) ...then you proceeded to hassle anyone who called you out on it. Reread your own words and think about it.
Ryan did nothing wrong......NOTHING at all, except getting stalked by a liberal hag...er nag.
Same thing with whisky and cigars...there are a lot of good ones but you know it when you get a great one.
Now...as for women...
oops......the hundred thousand was for food and booze...RME
You have to get a little tanked before you push old ladies over the cliff.
Sounds like a jealous, snoopy neighbor with nothing better to do, but be bitter at her station in life.
Would Feinberg taken issue if it was president O and his wife noshing on imported beef and consuming fine wine during one of their many "date nights" out on the town?
Doubt it.
read on...Ryan was dining with two very rich economist/hedgefunders who were most likely bending his ear....business....when Ryan was so rudely interupted he looked into the wines his dining companion ordered and insisted on paying for one. I am betting he cringed all the way home over the cost. It happened, but Ryan didn’t make it happen.
huh, I can beat that.......I drink wine provided by others......oops, that was what Ryan was doing when he got called out. nevermind.
I’m no wine expert either — I’m a beer man — but I would think there is a difference. I’ve never had a wine that cost more than $25 a bottle.
With beer, I know there’s a huge difference between Milwaukee’s Best and Sam Adams, so I’d guess wine is the same way.
Glad to see that...article I linked to did not elaborate on this....as I said, I hoped the article was not accurate.
Maddog 20 20
You forgot the sarcasm tag - right?
Pretty nice Burgundy. And if he paid for it himself, he can drink whatever he likes.
There is a difference—I have had some fairly expensive wines ($100-$150 is fairly expensive in my book); they are better than cheaper $30 wines, but trick is to find good wines for $30-60! It is doable, and sommelier can help find them ;)
Let’s eliminate Ryan’s name out of this ok? Let’s look at the general facts. Congress is paid from taxpayer funds. What is hard to understand about that?
Now putting Ryan’s name back in it; it is quite possible and more than a reasonable assumption that he did in fact pay for money out of his funds he had prior to being elected.
Salaries AND perks of the ENTIRE Congress should be slashed. Their salaries and perks are helping to drive the deficit.
$350 for a bottle of wine is ridiculous but when you are a public ‘servant’ there is a responsibility to avoid all appearance of impropriety.
