The article go on to detail that not only was aware of the program in 2009, but stated that he was expanding it, which clearly contradicts his May 3rd 2011 assertions of ignorance.

Glad to see this story getting legs. I sent it to Ulster Man as soon as I saw it.

So, from what I’m reading, the DOJ and related agencies are actively engaged in supplyng arms to mexican drug cartels, along with leftist central american governments. Or, are they just using the cartels for financing and logistics to put arms in the hands of those leftist regimes?
This pile of crap coming out of DC just keeps getting deeper and deeper by the minute.

I wonder what our government’s reaction would be if we found that Cuba was actively supplying weapons to street gangs in the U.S.?

As if we could expect anything more from this administration than lies.
If only the MSM would do something.

Project Gunrunner was started in 2008. Its purpose was to stop straw purchases of weapons here in the US that were destined for Mexico. By early 2009 it had accounted for about 1200 arrests. These were accomplished BEFORE those weapons hit the border.
Project Gunrunner should in no way be confused with Operation Fast and Furious or Operation Castaway.
“Gunwalker” is just a term coined by the media and has no basis in reality as the name of a government program or operation.

1) Project Gunrunner was the Bush era operation which was designed to catch straw purchasers in the US and resulted in about 1200 arrests.
2) Operation Fast and Furious was the Obama era plan to allow straw purchasers to transport weapons across the border into Mexico to see where they ended up. (supposedly)
3) Operation Castaway was the same as F&F only Honduras was the (first) destination of the weapons
4) Gunwalker was a term coined by the media and has no true basis as the name of a govt. operation.
Ya cant know the players if ya dont have a scorecard.

There's "Gunrunner" and there's "Gunwalker" (Fast & Furious):
Conderate Yankee clarifies Actually - they probably used similar names on purpose to keep things totally obscured.

Roger Hedgecock acquired a copy of the speech (from the "doj" web site, I think), and read the relevant part during the first segment of this hour of his show:

RE “
On May 3, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa’s committee that he only learned about the government's sale of weapons to Mexican drug cartels “in the last few weeks.” But Big Government found a 2009 speech by Holder on the Department of Justice's own website that proves the attorney general was well aware of Operation Gunrunner back in 2009:”
Good story FNC has been covering.

“The problem with Holders feigned ignorance is that he gave a speech in Cuernavaca, Mexico, on April 2, 2009, in which he boasted about Operation ‘Gunrunner and told Mexican authorities of everything he was doing to insure its success. “
Then this means that the Mexican Government was LYING when they said they were not INFORMED of Operation Gunwalker/Gunrunner/Fast+Furious.

Holder is a lying sleeze. Why are we surprised. Look who hired him and who is his boss.
Maybe Holder will resign, and take Obama with him.
Maybe they won’t have a choice.

Buried in Barack Obamas failed trillion-dollar stimulus program was a $10 million bloody border racket that has now cost American lives. This goes far beyond the usual waste, fraud and abuse underwritten by progressive profligacy. Its bloodstained government malfeasance overseen by anti-gun ideologues and now anti-gun ideologue Attorney General Eric Holder will investigate.
Welcome to Project Gunrunner. Prepare for another Justice Department whitewash.
