I think you guys are spot on. I disagee with Romney’s political position and think he’s an opportunist. But the whole point is that his personal faith is irrelevant.

Romans 10:1-4

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.


The above fits MORMONism to a tee!

It is not irrelevant, because his faith is part of why he is running so hard and will say/do anything to get elected (he believes he is the fulfillment of prophecy). Now that is true of most politicians, however Romney has the LDS Inc and its billions of dollars and millions of members on his side and that will give him an advantage over others.

It is also relevant because it will dictate should , (God forbid) he actually gets elected.
