It was a pretty good shake in the Tokyo area. Centered up in the Tohoku region where the March 11 quake and wave occurred. I think initially it is a Japanese shindo 4 (Magnitude 7.1 has now been stated).
Not as powerful as March quake, but perhaps just as long in duration.
Heads up. The predictions of a tsunami are only at around 50 centimeters high (at this point at least).
Prayers on behalf of you and all there.
Amazing! My son spent three years in Japan while in the Navy and he loves Japan and the people there. Prayers up!

omg...how much more can the Japanese people withstand? Why??...they turned into a staunch ally of the U.S.A after WWII and seem to be such an honorable people. This is so horrible for them.
Prayers up.
Stay safe AIT.
Thanks for posting. BTTT!
Just sent a prayer. Take care!
As always, prayers for our wonderful Japanese frriends.
The Japanese people have been through enough. No peace for them.
No tsunami please.
Glad you are OK, prayers that you remain so.
Well damn!
The Japanese people seem to be VERY resilient folks, so even if things keep beating them down, they will somehow rise again.
Prays sent.
Guess I won’t head over to the harbor for dinner...or maybe so, could be entertaining....
Prayers up for all in Japan. May Jesus protect you all.

Prayers for you and all in Japan — stay safe.
:-) People take it pretty much in stride. But again, I am only speaking for people down in this part of the country, not up on Tohoku where it was apparantly centered this morning (less than a hour ago). In US terms, it would be like I felt a quake in Atlanta, GA, but the real center was around Jacksonville, Fl. or so— so I want to downplay it a bit regarding us in the “Kanto” (Tokyo) area.
Not good. (Updated at 9:50 p.m. Eastern) EVACUATION ORDERS are now being given to certain villages (already effected from March) right along the coastline there in Tohoku region (about 10 to 12 minutes ago), to get out of way of impending Tsunami. I will try to get the predicted “hit” times. The size will hopefully be small and limited intensity, but when they tell you to “get out” it becomes serious.
Prayers Up... stay safe
They are now saying the times the tsunami(s) will hit: 10:30 (already hit), 10:50 (already hit), (11:10 yet to hit). 10:44 a.m. was 10 centimeters hitting Ofunato Town. NHK radio is saying the waves may be higher than predicted by govt. authorities, so be careful. Again, they are all local a.m. times Sunday here (Saturday p.m. in USA) . The waves I think are not particularly high, but they are coming in. This can be hell on volunteer clean up workers or others who experienced The Big One, in terms of PTSD. H
... and unlike those in the U.S. who get the order to eveac, the Japanese get the heck out.
