OBAMA’S BIGGEST RE-ELECTION FEAR

John G. Winder, The Cypress Times

Published 07/08/2011 - 1:28 p.m. CST

Hint: It’s not Mitt Romney

With unemployment rising again and now hitting 9.2% in the latest report from the United States Department of Labor President Barack Obama is faced with a new reality in terms of his bid to win re-election. The old Clinton-era line “It’s the economy stupid” is now more precisely expressed as “It’s jobs stupid”.

In January of 2009, when Barack Obama was sworn in as the President, the unemployment rate was 7.6%. Bush-Bashing and promises that once unimaginable government spending would save the day were all the rage from Barack Obama.

In October of 2008 in Toledo, Ohio, then candidate Obama said his administration would create 5 million new jobs.

“We’ll create 5 million new, high-wage jobs by investing in therenewable sources of energy that will eliminate the oil we currently import from the Middle East in 10 years, and we’ll create 2 million jobs by rebuilding our crumbling roads, schools, and bridges,” Barack Obama told the voters. “It is time to protect the jobs we have and to create the jobs of tomorrow.”

President Obama, still on the blame Bush bandwagon said on Labor Day of 2010, “For a decade, middle class families felt the sting of stagnant incomes and declining economic security.” Mr. Obama made that statement at the end of his self-proclaimed Summer of Recovery.

Mr. Obama failed to mention that under Bush, despite 9/11 and entry into two wars, the US experienced 52 consecutive months of job growth.

Jobs are the major issue in the country today. Job losses have increased not decreased under Barack Obama. 14 million Americans are out of work.....

“From January 2000 to June 2010 [Perry's tenure], Texas had a net increase of nearly 1.1 million jobs—more than any other state by far. In fact, Texas’ outsized gains eclipsed the total of the next five job-creating states: Florida, Arizona, Virginia, Utah and Washington.”

Perry has a track record of creating jobs. Real countable jobs. Not imaginary or 'saved' jobs. He would clean Zero's Clock in a heartbeat................

I don’t want Obama simply beaten in 2012, I want him crushed. He and that band of un-American czars need to be thrown out, better yet banished from office so that this stupid American electorate understands this time that never, ever again can they get suckered by an empty suit nobody who has caused such damage to this country and its people.

Perry has a track record of creating jobs. Real countable jobs.

Don't get sucked into the democrat language swamp. Government does not create jobs (other than IRS or BATFE agents). The best they can do is reduce regulation and taxes, and get out of the way.

I think team Obama would be glad to face Perry. If he looks like a W. and talks like a W. and walks like a W. ....then....

Mitt Romney inspires no one. If he were to win it would simply be because he is the “not Obama” in 2012.

If we can keep it a 2-way race, Baraq is toast no matter what.

Casey Anthony could beat Baraq in 2012 based on the econ stats today.

If Baraq is running against Romney AND a Tea Party candidate, he could pull off a Clintonian plurality win.

I hope Perry gets in the race. There are always instantaneous yowls of “RINO” here with any Republican, but Perry is an authentic conservative on numerous issues. I also think he’s the only potential Republican candidate who could beat Obama.

Wait a minute! Didn't one of der 0berFuhrer 0bama's minions just say that it doesn't matter if the Country is unemployed?!!

Yep, I heard him say it, some guy named Gullooly or something like that. They've definitely changed their tune....

In October of 2008 in Toledo, Ohio, then candidate Obama said his administration would create 5 million new jobs.

“We’ll create 5 million new, high-wage jobs...Barack Obama told the voters. “It is time to protect the jobs we have and to create the jobs of tomorrow.”

It was reported on FoxNews today that since Obama took office at least 2.5 million jobs have been lost. Based on Obama's campaign promise, he is now at least 7.5 million jobs in the hole. So when his goon says it doesn't matter, he's telling us to buzz off, because we don't matter either.

Not exactly a winning campaign strategy for 2012.

Now, let’s not get too confidant. It is going to take a lot of hard work. We must never never give up. Never underestimate the power of dumb people.

I agree with you.
But I see a lot of defeatism on FR and like to counteract it.
