Texas has executed a Mexican national for the kidnapping and rape of a 16-year-old San Antonio girl.
Garcia, 38, was put to death less than two hours after the U.S. Supreme Court, by a 5-to-4 vote, rejected pleas from the Obama administration for a delay to avoid what it called serious international repercussions
. Before Garcia's trial, Texas authorities failed to inform him of his right to speak with officers from the Mexican consulate and failed to inform the consulate that a Mexican national had been arrested.

Adios Humberto. Rab.
Hey Nina Dummy, she was also murdered. I guess that part wasn't important to your story?
Not going for shock value, just wanted to show what he did. Why he was sentenced to to death.
Discouragingly so, this was found on Wikipedia only after entering 'victim' in the search engine. A search of his name only yielded the 'consular rights' that he was 'denied.'
This is the state of affairs people. Our president is more concerned with winning the approval of internationalists and potential Hispanic voters. Read how she died again. He was an animal.
Not surprising they omitted that little detail. NPR is about as honest as the old Pravda. Same political ideology as well.
Thank you, Texas.
all the liberals voted to delay this execution. Not surprising.
This animal was brought to America when he was 2 years old. Law enforcement would have been using racial or ethnic profiling to think about him being a Mexican citizen. Perhaps they would have gotten in trouble for that, if they had profiled him in that way.
Four SC Justices don’t understand the law.
Since he was brought to America when he was two, I wonder if he even knew he wasn’t a citizen of the U.S. Maybe he and his family used forged documents. It wouldn’t be the first time; not trying to accuse anyone of anything,but just saying that secrets could have been kept.
And why were we talking about this issue on the verge of his execution? Why the heck didn’t his attorneys file motions on this particular point of international law many years ago???? I know death penalty cases go through layers of appeals. Why wouldn’t every conceivable issue, including this one, have been explored well before he’s ready to meet his maker???? Just wondering about the timing of it all. I sense that Obama saw an opportunity to score political points.
Oh well Bye dude! Have a good life down there!
GeronL. Glad you noticed that Totenberg, a real piece of shit, conventiently left out this little face of murder, as well as sexually abusing the poor girl, who was Hispanic.
How do I know she was Hispanic? My granddaughter has a teacher with the same last name.
Totenberg is pure liberal delusional slime, the worst of the worst at NPR, which, in their liberal mental disease state, makes her their best.
Now you know why we don’t donate to NPR. I don’t fund our enemies. I expose and fight them.
Here is another key point that the lefties and Mexico are missing. The reason the Texas Supreme Court didn’t stop it based on the lack of consular contact was that he was not in custody when he made the incriminating statements in question. You don’t have to call the consulate until he is arrested.
Flush.
Soooo? It’s still about ‘’p-ss on the victim’’, got that Gomer, Barney, Goober.
Mass. has no death penalty; whenever Texas executes an inmate, Boston conservative radio talk host Howie Carr (on vacation this wk) plays a snippet of the country tune “God Bless Texas” together with the sound effect of an electric chair frying someone.
“God Bless(ed) Texas”

Yes, Saucedo is a Spanish/Mexican name.
He reportedly went out with a “Viva Mexico.” Too bad he did not see fit to let Ms. Saucedo “Viva.”
Boston conservative? That is like a land fish.
I'm just wondering because we have millions of undocumented workers and I don't want to be confused when they become Mexican nationals.
Surprisingly good ratings, too.
Toten = death’s
Berg = rock
