The looting of a BP service station and subsequent attacks at nearby Reservoir Park Sunday was a troublesome event that soured the normally buoyant Fourth of July weekend and raised a number of questions. Among them: Why didn't Milwaukee police connect the dots faster? And where were the parents of these young people?
Surveillance video taken from the BP service station shows clear pictures of dozens of youths stealing snacks, sodas and other merchandise. Some of them may have participated later in the beatings and robberies at the park. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said Wednesday that several parents have contacted police to turn in their children, and Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn said one person saw himself on the video and turned himself in. That's the responsible thing to do. We urge other people with information about the incidents to come forward.
Sunday's mob-like activity was similar to another isolated incident earlier this year at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa. In the January incident, officials had to shut down the mall after groups of unruly youths began looting and fighting.
Poverty is no excuse for bad behavior. There are a number of single parents who overcome long odds to raise children who respect the law and other people. Strong parenting and positive role models help kids make good decisions. Programs to keep them occupied can help. So can summer jobs, because they provide a paycheck and instill a sense of responsibility. Responsible kids don't usually get caught up in such attacks.
Some witnesses and residents questioned whether race played a role in the looting and beatings. Witnesses say the attacks were unprovoked and that the victims were white and the attackers were African-American. But we'd agree with Flynn, who said crime is colorblind. Flynn also downplayed the notion that police tried to minimize the severity of the incidents. Flynn said that initially police weren't fully informed of the details.
OK, so now that Flynn has the information - complete with a video - we would like to see his department work with the community to prevent future incidents such as this one, which the chief so accurately called "barbaric," "disturbing" and "outrageous."
The police chief of Milwaukee has taken a similar politically correct stance when downplaying mob violence.
Over the 4th of July, a gas station was ransacked and a group of white people were beaten and robbed by a mob of angry young black youth. Unreported in the paper for the most part is that the mob was not only beating and robbing the whites, but also hurling racial slurs at the same time. This is a hate crime, but both the police chief and newpaper are trying to cover up this fact. The police chief even went so far to say it was not a 'mob', but just some scattered incidents. It was only when the gas station owner released to the media his closed circuit tape of 30 or so black kids looting his store, and people who had been beaten and robbed by the same thugs came forward that he changed his stance.
What REALLY irritates me though, is that the online story about the police chief meeting with the neighbors and victims yesterday does NOT HAVE A COMMENTS SECTION for readers to chime in.
When the 'Chaos at the Capital' was going on and as with most every other story, big or small, the online JSONLINE has a comments section. This time they left it out intentionally because they know that the 'sheeple' now know the facts about this mob beatdown and the police dept's attempt to cover it up and even the liberals who live in the RiverWest neighborhood are PISSED.
What does it say about the local paper that it picks and chooses which stories it will allow its readers to comment on? Disgusted does not begin to describe how I feel now.
Only when it involves Eric Holder’s peeps
“What does it say about the local paper that it picks and chooses which stories it will allow its readers to comment on? Disgusted does not begin to describe how I feel NOW.”
Now emphasis mine. You must be a very patient and tolerant person, or you are unobservant or clueless, because most papers and ABCNNBCBS have placed a lot of us in a relatively constant state of disgust for a number of years.
Whichever it is, glad you NOW see the light.
“Witnesses say the attacks were unprovoked and that the victims were white and the attackers were African-American. But we’d agree with Flynn, who said crime is colorblind.”
You just started the targets were Whites but STILL say crime is colorblind?
Looks like the media & Police are colorblind. The attackers sure as hell weren’t.
here is the link to the video of the ‘non-mob’ pillaging the gas station.

What the politically correct crowds don’t realize is that the omission causes more anger among those who care about the news and crimes.
People who actually care about their community already know or suspect the truth, the predominant race involved in such crimes these days. The crime is actually what angers them.
But when there is a clear attempt by the media of the police to cover it up or whitewash the race of the perps it moves from just simple anger to infuriation.
And that causes even more problems and creates animosity that otherwise wouldn’t exist.
The only reason the paper or the police would try to cover up the race of a criminal is because they know something is wrong, hence the reason for any coverup in the first place...
But they are trying to cover up what 90% of the public already knows, which simply enflames the issue... but they cannot see it.
Bring back the ghost of Harold Brieir!(sp?)
It says that you have an uptight liberal newspaper that is more concerned with political correctness than reporting the news or allowing its readers to express an opinion.
Pravda and Izvestia were at least honest about their role as propagandists.
As has the politically correct sheriff of Tucson when he blamed all the conservatives for the shooting of Giffords. They all read from and believe the same Marxist playbook. Dupnik the dupe.
Where’s Judge Christ T. Seraphim? He’d scream at them from the bench, and throw ‘em in the hoosegow.
It means they would prefer white folks get killed than to tell the truth about black crime.
If 6% of our total population commit 50+% of the total crimes every year and that 6% is of one culture then there is a serious problem with the culture and the politically correct whitewash is simple aiding and abetting the criminal mentality of said culture.
If you refuse to acknowledge the problem then there will never be a solution. The left is making sure there will never be a solution.
What’s beginning to irritate me is the number of sites that no longer have a log in on the site itself for making comments-rather, you log in to your facebook account and then are enabled to comment on the site. I do NOT have a facebook account, no intention of getting a facebook account, and I really hate how prevalent the “log in to your facebook account to comment on our news site” crap is getting.
Eventually people will have to either settle with blacks or surrender to whatever they want. I fear that surrender is the only option; the reason being, whites do not have the physical and moral strength to resist. Whites would rather die than fight. As Spengler said “die to provide amusement for others.”
MJS: When Is “Crime color-blind” Matrix
Victim white/perp black — Yes
Victim black/perp is white — No
Victim black/perp black — Yes, unless perp is conservative
Humanzees?
These incidents are going to hurt obama big time...
Further chimp-outs by the Dem base are pushing the country close to a Repbulican majority for the forseeable future....
Amish kids again!
The major local papers in MN did the same thing with the “Beat Whitey Night” story about the Iowa State Fair last year.
