Two police officers have been caught on camera in a furious physical row after a suspect screamed out in pain during an arrest. Shocking footage shows the NYPD cops come to blows after one is deemed to have used excessive force while roughing up a suspect.

“I’m opposed to the use of excessive force and if you disagree with me I’m going to beat you up!”
... as opposed to using just the right amount of force roughing up the suspect? ROFL
I suppose the correct way to rough up a suspect is promulgated in the watch officer's instructions. Bad Cop!
NY nuff said.
"I'll show you some excessive force, you %$&**#@."
LOL.
I loved the phraseology - “while roughing up a suspect”...
As if “roughing up a suspect” is SOP (probably is).
Looks to me as a story not worth FR bandwidth.
There is NO fistfight... just a few shoves and pushes. Clearly a disagreement between cops, but no fists.
Also looks like a non-story being peddled by the UK Daily Mail. Must be a real slow day there...
A few years back there was a shootout between two lesbian cops in Detroit. LOL
I thought the cops showed great constraint, given that the guy was resisting arrest (and acting like an ass - which is not illegal but is a good way to piss off a cop).
Did not see anything. I think he was resisting arrest and had done something really bad to the cop...
Interesting comments by all. Sorry to have wasted your time. Will be more careful in the future. Guess there is no interest in seeing one LEO trying to rein in another that is starting to go over the top. Now know it would only have been of interest if both cops kicked the h-— out of the guy or each other. Thanks for the clarification.
The video supports neither the headline nor the lede.
“Thought we needed to see what some refer to as the 10%. Not all LEOs are bad.”
You have posted a most interesting issue - “Are LEO’s capable of self-regulating the behavior of their peers?”
Given the growing number of cases of LEO’s acting out their “Inner Nazi”, this should be an interesting thread.
A bit of a pity the English paper headline was a tad on the Yellow Journal side.
Has the Daily Mail become America’s paper of record? I think there’s been more reporting on US stories there than in US papers lately.
“There was no furious fist fight. A little pushing and shoving was all.”
Maybe it was furious by UK standards, where a raise eyebrow is considered a cuss-out?
Right. They’re not ALL revenue collectors on power trips either.
You have not read all the comments yet, so maybe it is too soon to determine that FR is any one thing.
The tape did not show what happened leading up to the second cop stepping in, so it is difficult to determine what is exactly happening. The article fails to say what the man was arrested for and that would have been helpful in measuring what occurred had it been shown in the video.
It appears the second cop stepped in to stop a meat head abuser cop but one can not tell from the viedo nor the article what led up to the conflict between the police officers. Since the article began with a anti-cop lie in it’s title, it is hard to take anything in the article not supported by video evidence or multiple witnesses seriously.
Just like you don’t want everyone to be on a cop’s side no matter if he abuses his power, you surely don’t want everyone to react mindlessly in an opposite direction. How about we operate based on what evidence is presented. In this case, not much.
