"Kyle specifically detailed how the revenue would come from liquidating government property and use fees."

Those are taxes, and $150 billion to $200 billion is a lot of money.

But go ahead, and drive on with politics. Consumer spending and agreement will be shut down more as necessary for every theft, regulation and anti-American political/business move.

To raise revenues, CUT TAXES. See GW, Reagan, and the lib icon JFK for examples...

I said the report was nonsense when the first reports came out. Thank me very much.

Sellin ggovernment property is not raising taxes, and it is a good idea. The Federal govt owns way too much land in the West and can get rid of a lot of real estate and office space.

Not the first time Reuters has been caught fabricating the news:

You are absolutely right and user fees are the very fairest way to raise revenue. They are NOT a tax in the way we speak of taxes today (income tax).

But of course liquidating government property doesn’t address overspending issues.

Exactly. And especially if the proceeds are used to keep the deadhead payroll padded.

Until we know exactly what ‘user fees’ are included, we don’t know how much of it is a tax hike deal.

Romney was the master of this in MA: he hiked hundreds of ‘fees’ and said he wasn’t raising taxes.

Look out!

Fertilizer. My taxes already paid for whatever the 'user fee' was supposed to be used for. We do not have an federal income problem, we have a problem in the Feds spending more money than they're taking in.

It is in no way 'fair' to demand more money for the same service from taxpayers. I'd have less of a problem cutting back on the gimmes though - pretty much all tax credits would be something I'd be more than happy to see on the table - a simple rule change; you can only apply tax credits to the tax liability and not be refunded the excess. Literally thousands of dollars refunded per return for millions of returns each year. Because giving away money that the feds already spent elsewhere is a big part of the problem.

I don't think I've ever seen a sentence begin with "myself." I wonder why people have started using "myself" in so many strange ways. I guess maybe they think "I" is a bad word. I don't know for sure.

Here, let me rewrite this post using Dana's grammar:

Here’s a reminder of how Romney hiked “fees” in MA, so he could run for president by claiming he didn’t raise taxes:
