Surely you are aware that single motherhood has changed since the time you struggled with it to raise your child.
Handouts are de rigeur nowadays, the state and fedgov have become the fount of every blessing, at taxpayer expense. The rate of single teen pregnancy is very very high, compared with what it used to be.
You are to be commended for being responsible. Very few are.
