It was, after all, just a “very” late term abortion.
this evil creature had a missing 2 year old for 30 days and did not call the cops ?
her family called the police after she stalled them for a month ?
She went on a cruise while her baby was missing and made up some story about a phony person taking her kid ?
And you think this evil thing is a victim ?
livius: “The problem is not “single mothers,” because historically, there have always been a lot of them, either because Daddy got killed in the wars, Daddy was just a passing fancy, or for other reasons totally beyond anybody’s control.”
It’s all a matter of degree. If you’re making the point that single mothers made up a significant portion of the population historically, I have to disagree. Yes. There were men killed in wars, but the number of males killed versus those not killed was relatively insignificant (at least in America).
The US in WWII had about 130 million souls, but it only lost a bit more than 400 thousand killed. I’m not making light of the men killed, but compared to roughly 65 million men in the population at that time, you’re talking about a very tiny percent killed. That’s hardly “a lot” of single mothers.
I submit that nothing in American history comes even remotely close to the single motherhood rates (or attitudes) of today. In the past, I bet single mothers usually remarried fairly quickly, and having a child out of wedlock was (rightly) considered a bad thing. For the relatively small numbers of widows who didn’t remarry, society was generally supportive. Being a widow didn’t bear the same negative connotation as being an unmarried mother.
However, you’re right that nowadays most folks see nothing wrong with sex outside of marriage. Spiritually, the rules are the same as always, so fornicators and adulterers are still destined to Hell if they don’t repent. Unfortunately, that message no longer resonates with many people who think that being “non judgmental” is the greatest moral attribute one can have.
I too never watched any of the mountains of trash TV and wasted journalism dissecting this case. If they were not all bought and paid for then the hidden truths [in desparate need of full exposure] would totally change the collective reality we find our country in
Honestly the press is simply a bunch of copycat puppets glomming onto the next big story ever in search of ratings no matter how much deeper they go into the gutter for the next and the next and ho humm....
What the hell is wrong with you, Ann? That's not satire.
You take an enormous number of great points, and summarize them into idiotic conclusions that do nothing but bait social warfare explosions. Thanks a heap.
Stop being such a jerk. It's making you lose your touch. You research hits way hard enough without needing you to take potshots at your stunned targets.
Let your facts do your hitting.
Sounds like you didn’t bother to read the fine article (RTFA).
She spent it talking about the high cost to all of unwed motherhood.
I agree with Ann that single-motherdom is one of the chief problems in America.
I agree with you that the media convicted her before she had her day in court.
Twelve jurors sat across the room from her, took measure of her, observed her, heard the states evidence IN PERSON, and decided they weren’t convinced beyond a reasonable doubt to convict her of murder.
Why anyone would suddenly trust the MSM on this story is beyond me.
Good post.
Great points. Insightful...
I certainly didn’t want to make you feel old! But truthfully, you are an exceptional mother, and your child is very blessed to have you. ((hugs)) and prayers to you.
WHOA! Whadda fella. Protecting the thug, democrat, commie, idiot, money-grubbing, jackass jurors. GO FER IT, Big Guy.
Her sense of humor is top notch, don't let it get to you.
Now Casey can join Scott Peterson and OJ in forming a Super Friends Justice League and they can all find the real killers....
My sense of humor's just fine. She had a great piece going and she blew it.

By what course of reason did you reach that conclusion? As I see it a libertarian would A. say that a mother is free to keep her child if she so wishes and B. no one should be forced to support her. If you take away all of the support given to single mothers, that is involuntarily taken from the rest of us, then adoption would be the logical outcome since most single mothers could not support their children.
There is a huge difference between a single mother, and a widowed mother. The main one is, the father, though absent, is heroically praised and brought up to the child. The child of a deceased man, is told of how proud their father would be, or how ashamed he may become depending on circumstances. The child gets to look at pictures of him, is told stories of how the mother met him. Is constantly amazed at how many people loved their father. Contrast that with the single mother, that will replace the guy as quickly and as often as needed. Who tears apart his personality and pictures with equal ferocity. Who is frankly embarrassed or ashamed, and passes that guilt on to the child. Between deadbeat sugar daddy or hook up artiste, and dead soldier, fireman, or cop, no comparison.
