The prosecutor says he does not intend to seek jail time. That will be up to the judge. Not the prosecutor. If he doesn't want the kid to spend time in jail then what is the purpose of filing felony charges against him?

If he doesn't want the kid to spend time in jail then what is the purpose of filing felony charges against him? To keep him from ever owning a firearm and ensuring he can keep his freedom and liberties. Also to make sure he can be jailed for any minor infraction and never hold a decent job so to keep him afraid and compliant for the rest of his life.
