Gov. Rick Perry: The Candidate Obama Would Fear Most
Human Events ^ | 07/06/2011 | Merrill Matthews

More than any other potential GOP presidential candidate, President Obama fears Texas Gov. Rick Perry. That's because Perry is the only one who can devastate virtually any Obama claim.

Take the whine we hear most often from the President: That President George W. Bush handed him a terrible economic situation. As USA Today reported June 2: "[White House spokesman Jay] Carney noted that when Obama took office on Jan. 20, 2009, he faced the worst economy since the Great Depression. Obama also inherited the biggest budget deficits in history, from a Republican President—George W. Bush—who had come into office with budget surpluses."

A full two and a half years after taking office, Team Obama still blames Bush—for everything except the fall of Adam. Well, there is one other elected chief executive who inherited a Bush economy: Rick Perry, as governor of Texas. And yet I have never once heard Perry whining that the state would be doing so much better if it hadn't been for the policies of his predecessor.

To use a football analogy—I mean, we're talking about Texas—it's not who hands you the football and it's not where the ball is handed to you, it's what you do with the ball after you have it.

Rick Perry took the ball from Bush and scored an economic touchdown for Texas. Obama took the ball from Bush and fumbled it—repeatedly—giving the other team a chance to score a touchdown.

Which brings us to the Obama vs. Perry records on the economy. What has happened to some of the key indicators of economic well-being since Obama has been in charge (roughly January of 2009 to June 2011)?

Perry is a polar opposite of GW Bush. Here is a strong and dedicated man, loyal to Conservative Principles. (First and Foremost!)

Would you please stop making an @ss out of yourself with the Aryan comments?

If you're a Perry supporter, maybe you should consider those stupid insinuations not only don't help, but turn off the vast majority of FR to your new found candidate.

Good reminder! When the Wolf Pack is out tearing down the competition, this information will be invaluable.

Perry should make a simple speech, perhaps to a Gov’s conference:

If President Obama truly believes that resolving the Budget Ceiling is so damn important, then he can prove that conviction, by coming to the table willing to sign a bill that CUTS FEDERAL SPENDING BY AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE RISE IN THE DEBT CEILING!

Economic growth and employment number from Texas will utterly destroy Obama. Perry wins big. Perry isn’t perfect, but no one is. He’ vastly better than Obama, and the midwestern states will be happy to dump the chump for a three term governor overseeing the nest economy in the US.

“If you don’t want Rick Perry who is a true Social and Fiscal Conservative, just who do you want? Romney? Obama? “

Personally, I like Bachmann and DeMint (if he would run). Cain is fine too.

...and by the way, a “true Social Conservative” doesn’t require pre-teen girls to get vaccinated so that they have unrestrained sex while in middle school and high school.

“The clear and obvious good qualities of Rick Perry are right in front of your face, and still, all you can do is demagogue this fine man to shreds.”

You mean like NOT having a Sanctuary City law when your party controls 65% of the government and there’s NOT A THING the Dems can to stop it.

...or do you mean protecting our version of the Dream Act?

...or do you just want another open-borders president. They are good for big business, after all?

HOW PATHETIC. There are PROVEN conservatives in this race, why should we have to be stuck with Al Gore’s 1988 Texas Campaign Manager as our candidate?

Perry is a solid man with a truly established spine. He won’t be a wimp like Bush was, when he faces his critics, or the MSM.

The MSM also fears this man in the worst of ways.

No, I'm just suggesting you are hurting your cause with your own stupidity.

That you can't see that, is apparently normal though......

Thanks, the analogy of being compared to a NAZI since I don’t support Perry went right past me. I guess I’m immune to that now.

Right,

You forgot rotten candidates like Reagan, who was a former Democrat and also signed into law the first Amnesty.

Your argument is typically weak as is your rhetoric. Perry is a man who is actively doing something good and positive, yet somehow you try to tell us everything he does is all wrong.

The only one who misses the point in all of this is your kind.

-——That President George W. Bush handed him a terrible economic situation.-——

Actually, Obama was set up. Given the economy and the wars, the Messiah was destined to fail. That destiny was exacerbated by his stupid and slavish need to implement every leftwing wacko desire since the beginning of time

Or are you one of those diehards that think Palin will still run?

Heaven forbid! At least you stopped short of calling people Nazis over it though. Credit where credit is due and all.

Alaska is the only state that does not collect state sales tax or levy an individual income tax. To finance state operations, Alaska depends primarily on petroleum revenues. Some of its cities and other local jurisdictions, however, do collect sales tax revenue. More on Alaska taxes can be found in the tabbed pages below.

Yea, you’re probably right...whoever gets the nomination wins the White House.

But this just reminds me too much of 1980, when we Republicans had a choice of Reagan or Bush(41). We were told that Reagan was an non-viable NUTCASE. We still chose him, and he still swept to power.

So do we REALLY have to chose a person who has done some pretty WEIRD stuff, as viewed from conservative eyes - or can can nominate someone we can TRUST in the White House.
