...Excerpt...
A forecasting model called PollyVote combines several index models for a well-rounded approach to predicting the next U.S. president. One of the models used in PollyVote is a biographical index, called PollyBio, that ranks candidates based on 59 biographical characteristics such as age, home state and athleticism.
.....
When they tested PollyBio on the past 29 presidential elections from 1896 to 2008 the forecast matched the actual outcome 27 times. The two it missed: Jimmy Carters 1976 election and Bill Clintons 1992 election.
.....
Perry was the only one among 14 GOP candidates to come out ahead of Obama. Compared side-by-side on the PollyVote bio index, Perry came out with 21 points to Obamas 20, translating to 50.3 percent of votes for Perry...

No, it isn’t that at all.
I have, since 1980. researched all the candidates running for the Presidency and Vice Presidency. I do it every national election cycle, and you’re right, I held my nose and voted for Reagan.
I prefer candidates with solid Conservative backgrounds and it wasn’t until much later, after reading some of Reagan’s writings, that I realized how lucky the U.S. had been at that time to have him as our President.
Rick Perry ain’t no Ronald Reagan!
No claim of Perry being Reagan. You are aware that Reagan was once a dem same as Perry? That was my point.
Just don’t buy into the posters who, for one reason or another, have Perry Derangement Syndrome and post half truths and embellised “facts”.
If he happens to get the nomination, am hopeful you can see his good points compared to his actual negatives. No politician is perfect, no conservative will be conservative enough for some.
Regretabbly Bachman will likely wilt when the MSM really starts hammering. Cain no matter how good the man sounds is going nowhere in the real world. My pick would continue to be Palin, but if she doesn’t run Perry would beat Mutt or JonBoy by any measurement and nobama by a million miles. Palin/Perry would be interesting.
Sarah Palin is my choice, also. She scares the Progressives and Globalists both, which is good.
As a matter of fact, I do. The TX Governorship is a rather weak one, with a more conservative legislature and a conservative public restraining Rick. One of the most important jobs of a President is to appoint people to the Cabinet and other positions. Rick Perry either has terrible judgment about the character of people he chooses, or cuts deals with slime in order to get something for himself.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Poll Watch: Rasmussen Reports 2012 Wisconsin General Election Poll
I think WI is only the beginning of some good news. The ads I've seen are outstanding and the link a poster provided on his NH press briefing was great. It sounds like he has a really good staff and the plan is to start advertising on a local basis.
It sure wasn’t mine!
I will vote for Herman Cain!
Giuliani would have made a much better candidate than McCain!
Perry’s record is awful. He climbs into bed with whoever shines his shoes.
It is so bad it is embarrassing.
All arguments we could use on Obama are negated with Perry.
He squirms around the rules.
Spotted 5 lies in your post.
It was kinda like the “Why I Hate Rick Perry Greatest Hits”, now available in CD...
I don’t either (understand the anti-Perry folks).
It’s really rather strange. I do understand that most have them have given their hearts to Cain, which is fine, but why are they so anti-Perry.
On the one hand, Cain folks claim Perry doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in the hot place. On the other hand, they never miss an opportunity to trash him and hop on every Perry thread to do so.
They have about 4 or 5 standard things they pull out.
The most prevalent is blaming Perry for the influx of illegals into Texas. (They don’t seem to blame Brewer for Arizona’s illegals). They don’t believe he’s tough enough on illegals.
That’s a pretty weak argument. He’s fought hard to get border control, even delivered a personal letter to Obama asking for federal help.
I think their favorite issue is the fact that Texas lets children of illegals pay in-state tuition at Texas colleges. This has been explained a million times. It was a unanimous vote by the legislature and is a practical solution (he shouldn’t have used the ‘heart’ line). The colleges benefit from the tuition and society may benefit from having higher level workers who don’t need benefits.
They love to paint pictures of little girls being held down while Perry forcibly injects them with Gardisal. They claim that he mandated this because he got money from Merck. He got an extremely small donation from Merck and he advanced this proposal because he believed in it and because it was the only way it would be paid for. There was an opt out but he now says it should have been an opt in.
They drag up his past as a democrat, ignoring the fact that Texas politics was all democrat back then. At least he learned.
They never have anything new against Perry but just post the same old canards over and over again.
What is their problem? I don’t get it. They seem incapable of advancing their candidate on his own merits.
I understand preferring another candidate than Perry but why this vitriol? Why this obsessive hatred? Perry is a good man and we may need a good man if Cain falters, as he well may do.
Who will it be then? Neither Santorum nor Bachmann seem to be serious contenders at this point, so it’s looking like Cain, Perry or Romney.
I wish they hated Romney or Obama with the same passion they expend on hating Perry.
[It wasnt all that long ago, Rick Perry was working to get Al Gore elected President. THAT is more than enough for me.]
That was TWENTY THREE years ago!
Perry supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic presidential primaries and Texas was most all conservative Democrats back then.
Kindly do not worry these people with facts.
I know altura - that's why you haven't seen me posting much lately. I honestly think some of them watch the ‘latest articles’ page for a Perry thread to pop up because they're ‘Johnny on the spot’ with their regurgitations.
You and Joe post the most gloriously colored images. I love color and they are wonderful!
Thank you. Joe is a very talented man. I just post some of his work, LOL!
