Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
And Casey’s body language.
Beautiful Life - the Sequel?
Jdje Jeannine is furious. Just like us.
To reach this verdict, the jury had to dismiss ALL THE EVIDENCE.
Now Casey can go live the good and beautiful life, and reproduce again!
You got it. The media chooses a particular story (out of countless murder stories), the public gets hooked, and presto -- high profile. If this case weren't one of the chosen, Casey would likely be looking at the death penalty right now.
The family won’t be able to live there anymore..they interviewed some of the neighbors yesterday they said they want the Anthony family OUT of their neighborhood
Not even child abuse? It's now all right to have a missing child and NOT report the child missing for one month.
I agree. As I said in my previous post...although I hadn’t watched the entire trial, I was left with the reasonable doubt about the evidence and case presented by the attorneys. It just wasn’t enough for me to fully be sure.
And I too don’t think this reflects as to the shape of our country as a whole. That’s just nonsense.
What worries me is when Casey gets preggers again..which no doubt, she will do so very soon..
Here’s a scary thought; she may be out of jail soon and have another baby.
Do prosecutors ever bring up the CSI factor? Was it mentioned to the jury in this case?
The CSI Effect is not a negative thing - prosecutors hate it because it forces them to actually present some compelling, objective evidence. For far too long, juries have relied on superstitions to arrive at verdicts rather than objective evidence.
It can sting the defense as well, though, as physical evidence like DNA can be seen as utterly damning even though it might not be relevant at all to the case.
They have many of the same emotions and dang-sure-as-hell-bombastic convictions as a lynch mob. What they do not have is deciding presence in that courtroom, thankfully. As the verdict shows.
Nor are they like dangerous mobs reacting in the wake of Rodney King trial. Or like the hi-class mob of officials, elites and professors convicting and crucifying the Duke Lacrosse team before a trial.
Back in the David Westerfield, June-August 2002, San Diego, California trial the same Justice-as-frenzy-drivers as Nancy Grace and other frenzy-sells media like O’Reilly, did drive home a guilt verdict. In that case there was some real evidence tying Westerfield to the corpse, but IMO it wasn’t beyond a reasonable doubt.
Such mob frenzy can have a sick or harmful result—it can truly be a hanging mob.
While our friends as a group here may seem close to a lynch mob in the frenzy of postings, they are not. It is blustering, gossip, etc etc. It is also in many ways a public good to so closely follow ANY trial, no matter the incentive.
It is most happy that the Jury acted honorably in bringing real meaning to the concept “guilty beyond a reasonable doubt”!
If this verdict is any indication; it shows the system is broken and they don[’t fix anything.
I’m just trying to find one small comfort to keep me from crying.
And the thing about OJ is that there were family members of the murder victims willing to pursue a civil case so that the truth at least finally came out, even if he was never punished for his crime.
That won’t happen here.
Well, we have no choice. Caylee killed herself. Casey cannot be retried.
Casey might as well of had an abortion. At least other people would not have known and loved her.
I could never look my daughter in the eye again.
Casey will be at the nearest bar as quickly as possible.

I am so happy for our system and so happy that the MEDIA is put in its place. Hot Damn! The last line of defense of the Constitution HELD! Yip Yip Yahoo!
Whther you agree with the jury, had to enjoy the defense lawyer telling off all the “talking head” lawyers who sit on tv pontificationg about cases they know zip about.
They are idiots and they repeated the same mantras for three years. It’s all done for money to attract clients.
