Morning all, didn't see a thread for today so I created one.
What i am wondering is if Caylee did drown as the jury believes; why didn’t they wonder where the mother, Casey, was when this child was allegedly drowning and why didn’t they convict Casey on a lesser charge if they believe this? Would you leave a 2 year old child in a yard unsupervised period? Not if you are a responsible parent. Geez, I watch my dogs a lot better than she did.
I say the jury was in neglect of their duty as jurors. That’s why I say their reason(s) for not guilty are bs. This was most likely a personal and emotional call by the jury. They were grasping at straws.
Yes I agree. As I said they are really great attorney’s. Use to playing hard ball with the big guys.
They apparently believe George did it.
Your Scenario 2 is eliminated by the computer search, the evidence of chloroform, the duct tape and the fact that Casey had motive to kill her daughter.
None of these, by themselves, proves Casey killed her daughter. Any one of these things can be explained with an unlikely, but possible explanation, as the defense did.
But for Casey not to be guilty, ALL OF THOSE UNLIKELY EXPLANATIONS would have to be true.
For Casey to be innocent you have to believe the following is true:
Casey had motive to kill her child, and her child was found dead, but Casey didn’t kill her, her child died some other way.
Obviously she wasn’t murdered by one of her grandparents who had absolutely no motive to kill her. So that leaves that she died accidentally as the only non-murdered-by-Casey explanation.
To believe in the accidental death scenario you have to believe a whole bunch of things, such as:
1) It wasn’t Casey who searched for chloroform on the computer.
2) The chloroform in the car trunk was from cleaning supplies or something.
3) Someone would cover up an accident instead of coming forward.
4) Someone took the trouble to put duct tape, from the Anthony’s home, around the skull of an accidentally dead child.
5) Casey was acting guilty and lying to police because she was willing to risk murder charges in order to avoid child neglect charges.
etc., etc., etc.
Each one of those five points ON IT’S OWN is remotely possible.
But for all five of those remote things to have happened, and all the rest of the circumstantial evidence I haven’t mentioned to also be misleading, all coincidentally happening in the same case is completely IMPOSSIBLE.
I’m reminded of what happens on baseball message boards at the start of each season. Inevitably some team wins their first 4 or 5 games, then finally loses. Someone jokes, “Darn, I was hoping we would go 162-0.”
Then some ignoramus remarks, “Well, 162-0 is theoretically possible!”
No, it isn’t. (And for anyone out there who thinks it is, go take a statistics course and learn about why it isn’t. I’m really, really tired of explaining things like this to dumb people.)
Anybody with any doubt about whether or not Casey did this is not just unreasonable, but also reason-challenged, in my opinion.
I agree, this woman is a selfish , lying woman.
However, our legal system is NOT about justice in a particular trial, much as we want that. In some cases, we end up with justice, sometimes we don’t.
The Legal system is about providing a fair, open examination of the evidence as to WHETHER A PERSON IS GUILTY OF THE CHARGES.We don’t have to find out the “why” the person did this, or the character of the person...those that may be part of the trial. We only have to have the prosecution Prove to a jury beyond reasonable doubt that the dfendant is guilty OF THE CHARGES.
That is one reason we have open trials and all the Miranda stuff, defendant’s rights, evidence specifics, prejudicial evidence. We will let 10 men go free rather than convict one wrongly.
The alternative IS mob rule or a dictatorship or even a military trial. We no longer have the “stocks” women were put into for being a bad person, or wearing a scarlet A for adultry. Casey WILL be shamed, no doubt.
It IS sad that the little girl won’t have her killer punished...but so far, according to our jury system, we do not have the answer to that. That is part of the intense reaction. We want this person punished.
Who knows, they may simply call the sheriff and have charges filed against the people stalking them.
Clichés.
Lack of integrity? No, that honor-of-the-day goes to Bozo Baez, the lying creep who bamboozled the lazy jury.
Did the jury follow the law? They didn’t have enough time to read through the damn charges. Way, way too lazy.
With absolutely no evidence of it. They didn’t even listen to the jury instructions if they believe an accident either. Sleazy defense attorney throws out accident in opening statement and they fall for it.
She walks out of there Thursday, arm in arm with Mason, just like he said.
In the meanwhile, little Caylee will never walk arm in arm with anyone. It makes me so sad, but that’s our judicial system. The standards are very high for the evidence brought, and dumping a body in a swamp to let it rot for 6 months is a good way to be sure the cause of death is never known.
You know Charlie Manson never actually killed any of those people. I guess this jury would let him go free.
Probably.
Another thing that bothers me is that if this Jury acceptd without EVIDENCE that GA molested the murderer, and then killed the baby. Men should be very concern. Is this the new prejudice. Men are to be Judge guilty of heinous crimes based on the word of a psycho Liar?
There are so many questions this trial brings up.
I thought they said he only participated in the cover up.
The “people stalking” them are called The Press and good luck with getting the sheriff to file charges against the entire Media (electronic and paper) to make them stop calling requesting information and interviews.
“We dont have to find out the why the person did this, “
And yet, according to one report I heard, one of the idiot alternate jurors said Casey was not guilty because the prosecution failed to prove her motive.
Go away. Join the mob. You are part of it.
There is nothing new about the prejudice against men.
Prosecution does a crappy job and that’s the jury’s fault?? Even if they had gotten a conviction, it would have been thrown out on mistrial b/c of the idiotic junk they pulled.
Please don’t blame America or the jury for people who simply didn’t do their job well.
The jury hasn’t said anything. The alternates said they believe George did it. Until the cowardly jurors face the press I can only guess that they bought the same BS the alternates bought.
To be honest, Caylee is probably better off in heaven where she will be protected unlike with that crazy bunch. She never had a chance no matter how many times they tell us how much they love her. They probably did, but they sure as hell didn’t protect her, in life and certainly not in death.
