TRENTON — Senate President Stephen Sweeney went to bed furious Thursday night after reviewing the governor’s line-item veto of the state budget.

He woke up Friday morning even angrier.

"This is all about him being a bully and a punk," he said in an interview Friday.

"I wanted to punch him in his head."

Sweeney had just risked his political neck to support the governor’s pension and health reform, and his reward was a slap across the face. The governor’s budget was a brusque rejection of every Democratic move, and Sweeney couldn’t even get an audience with the governor to discuss it.

Is this guy any relation to the AFL-CIO Sweeney, John?

And by the way, Dems/Libs/Marxists: Many of us are well past the point where your efforts to ruin this country are taken “personal”.

It’s not about ‘you’ Mr. Sweeney. It’s about the NJ taxpayers. STFU and get over it!

"and his reward was a slap across the face".

Now he knows how Rod felt. Surprised he is vocal about expecting something in return for a vote after Rod conviction.

Typical words coming from an Alinsky RAT!!! Whatever happened to that “new tone” Obama preached when that lady got shot? Oh yeah that’s just for the Pubbies.

I can only paraphrase a now famous quote to Sweeney... “Get over it, he won!”

After the Lautenberg fiasco, this guy wants to play nice?! Go find Christine Todd Whitman, maybe the two of you can form a new coalition ... we’ll take the rest.

Heck, that shooter was a lefty too!!! Their rhetoric is always bombastic but they could give two hoots whenever someone on the right is attacked. If we even critique their policies, however, they act like we're buying ammo with their names on the bullets and passing it out.

"Listen, you can punch me in the face and knock me down, do what you want," Sweeney says. "But don’t be vindictive and punish innocent people. These people didn’t do anything to him. It’s like a bank robber taking hostages. And now he’s starting to shoot people.

Maybe this guy should set himself on fire to show how he really feels. Who's going to swallow this crap, besides the usual crowd with their hands out and their enablers.

You can always tell when a liberal has no positive or constructive contribution to make.

They have a three step strategy:

1- Resort to personal attacks against their opponent

2- Once they have taken first blood they accuse their opponent of attacking them

3- Appeal for an end to “the politics of personal destruction” and count on the leftist media to portray them as the victim

Or perhaps #4, he’s using Christie to deflect the undoubted criticism he’s getting from his @$$hole buddies in the unions for actually doing something good to start fixing the problems. Personally, I’d like to see this geek take a poke at Christie. Christie would wipe up the floor with him.

>> Sweeney: “I wanted to punch him in his head.”

While Sweeney may have worked with Christie according to his sense of good faith, his reaction paints a different story.

Reminds me of Paladino — great energy, but not made for politics.
