The Honourable James Richard 'Rick' Perry
Governor of the State of Texas
State Insurance Building
1100 San Jacinto
Austin, Texas 78701
Governor Perry:
We write to express, in the strongest possible terms, our disappointment over the outcome of the regular and special sessions of the 82nd Legislature, in which every single one of the dozens of common-sense immigration reform bills died.
As you are most likely aware, the overwhelming body of polling data shows that Texans are extremely concerned about the effects of unchecked illegal immigration on our state...
(Letter continues at link-you do not have to be a Texas resident to sign the letter)

Well Perry also sounded very disappointed.
And if he is REALLY disappointed, he will call another special session, this time for the Sanctuary Bill (and maybe the groping bill).
Of course if he doesn’t call that session it will be obvious that he’s perfectly happy with those bills getting squashed, and he’s just another OPEN BORDERS Republican.
I remember reading recently that if a second session was called, there might be a real problem getting folks to show up. Just how powerful is a Texas Governor, can the Texas Rangers be called out to round up legislators?
You might have wanted to address this letter to Perry (no relation)of Perry Homes, conservative donor. and Chris Butt of HEB Grocery Stores (gives to both parties).
It seems when it looked like the bills were going to pass they mounted a big $$$$ campaign to stop the Leg.
It is hardly Governor Perry’s fault in that outcome.
Even if he knew that would happen? You were sick the day they taught politics at whatever school you went to?
He is a liar and paid off some how.
GOP communist.
I didn't write it. You might want to read it. :)
FWIW, that’s the group’s SECOND “open letter” to Perry.
Here’s the first:

Those of you thinking you want him in Washington really should read it.
A brilliant post that displays a profound grasp of Texas politics.
If this guy does not get a sanctuary city bill passed after Houston had a sixth consecutive cop killed or maimed by an illegal alien..he’s done
Gosh lephantom, your argument is so articulate and persuasive. Maybe you should just read the posts on FR and not bother to reply. For your sake. Regarding Perry, he's our man!! Go Perry!!
You fail to point out that the Governor was just one recipient of the letter:
Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst
Texas House Speaker Joe Straus
Senate Transportation Chair Tommy Williams
House Transportation Chair Larry Phillips
Honorable Members of the Texas Senate
Honorable Members of the Texas House
You got a beef with Perry, that’s fine, I understand, but the first letter appears to be more about holding the legislature’s feet to the fire.
“I remember reading recently that if a second session was called, there might be a real problem getting folks to show up. Just how powerful is a Texas Governor, can the Texas Rangers be called out to round up legislators?”
If Perry actually WANTS to deal with Sanctuary Cities, I have no doubt he’ll get enough people to show up to take care of the problem.
Of course I don’t expect that outcome...
I take it you don’t think much of Perry, is that right?
Perry is the best chance to move the hussein family out of the White House. I sure hope he runs.
I hope he gets in the race too, except for Cain and maybe Bachmann the current field is pretty lame.
I like Cain and Buchmann too. I wouldn’t mind seeing any of them as the VP candidate.
Any and all of them are better than obama. I know that’s not saying much.
Perry is all hat and no cattle!
