So much for the will of the people. Remember Prop 25? (Voters approved Pro 25: No budget no pay for lawmakers.)
And remember how pleased some folks where when State Controller John Chiang said he was not going to pay lawmakers because the budget wasnt signed and wasn't balanced?
Oh.. well.. forget about all that.
Lawmakers complained and so, now John Chiangs office says basically .. Hey.. alls well that ends well. And hes now restoring their lost pay..
Voters 0
And dont forget they also were allowed to pass a budget with a simple majority.
They sure are keeping this quiet in the media though. I saw it mentioned on the KVIE website a little while ago. Can't find it anywhere else including the Sacramento Bee.
Can anyone verify?
There have been several articles and an editorial in the Bee on this.
When you control the vote, you control the voters
—— and you always get what you want.
It is true:

what a shocking surprise /s
as expected
Any guesses at John Chiang's chances at reelection?
He might try for another office in the usual musical chairs they play in Sacramento.
Can they being sued over this sham?
As I read it, they’re only getting paid back to last Tuesday, the night they passed their budget. Malloy conveniently forgets to mention that little fact, but it’s in the Capital Alert story that he linked to.
