Abbas tells Dutch parliament US, EU, Russia working to resume talks; says UN statehood bid not meant to "dismiss or delegitimize Israel." Talkbacks (13)
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday said that the Palestinian people recognize Israel's right to exist and they hope the Israeli government will respond by "recognizing the Palestinian state on the borders of the land occupied in 1967." The PA president's comments came in a speech to the Dutch parliament in the Hague.
Official Palestinian news agency WAFA quoted Abbas as saying, "Our primary goal is peace negotiations with the Israeli side and I hope the United States, the European Union and the Russian Federation succeed in their efforts to resume peace negotiations."

polls in Palestine prove the first part is a outright lie.
and the second part, is 40 years too late.
they rejected it when it was offered, and their actions since, have abrogated any right they may have had to any land.
if there was any true justice, we’d return to the Balfour document, or the binding international agreement in 1922.
To get one of their enemy’s recognition they have to go back to indefensible borders? Israel will probably counter for all Arab recognition in return for a pull-back to something less than 67 borders. They’ll settle on something and get recognition. The end has begun. We all sense it, now we know it.
I remember similar things happening under Klinton. The hatred of Hamas and Hezbollah will put a wrench into these plans. They just can’t help themselves.
I'm not talking about a map, but that it is proselytized throught Arab-land: look! Here is Israel.
'Till then: no deal; the Arabs are ALL talkin' out their ass-hats otherwise.
I respectfully disagree. With zero in the Wilding House for the short-term, this is the only time the UN would have any chance of automatic pali state recognition w/o a USA veto. The in-fighting will magically stop to get a pali state and worse, some right of return.
When was it repealed?
As to the borders. the 1967 borders are perfect.
June 11, 1967, that is.
Sorry losers!
After ten months’ of fighting, Arafat's surviving PLO forces were allowed to escape to Lebanon. Once in Lebanon, they destabilized the government and embroiled that unhappy land in a series of civil wars from 1975 to 1992.
Somehow, I don't see the Jordanians welcoming the psycho Palestinians into Jordan any time soon. The Egyptians don't want any part of these psychos either.
It's the little things they don't say that make allah the difference!
