Los Angeles - A Nigerian man who flew from New York City to Los Angeles International Airport using an expired boarding pass that belonged to someone else was in custody today after being arrested as a stowaway aboard an aircraft, authorities said.
Olajide Noibi was arrested Wednesday morning, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.
Noibi boarded Virgin American Flight 415 at JFK International Airport bound for LAX on Friday, Eimiller said.
After the plane took off, flight attendants noticed there was an extra passenger, and when they examined Noibi's boarding pass they noticed that it was from the previous day and bore the name of a different person, Eimiller said. He was questioned, but he was not arrested at that time.

Therefore, he did the same thing again.
On Wednesday, Noibi was arrested when he returned to LAX and tried to board Delta flight 46 for Atlanta, again trying to use an expired boarding pass belonging to someone else, Eimiller said. Other expired boarding passes allegedly were found by officials who searched his bags.
Noibi was arrested on a felony violation for "being a stowaway aboard an aircraft." He made an initial appearance in federal court on Wednesday, Eimiller said. The case was continued until 10:30 a.m. Friday, she said.
He did not succeed in trying to board the Delta flight with a bogus boarding pass, or more accurately, one of the TEN boarding passes belonging to others that SOMEHOW came into his possession.
Hey, but that 95-year-old woman dying of leukemia couldn’t board a flight because she was wearing wet Depends. How sickening our government has grown to be.No wonder only the pitifully unaware have any respect for it at this point.
Again?
That guy has been doing that same thing about every forty minutes since yesterday.
Or.. do you think there might have been multiple threads on the topic?
Nah, couldn’t be.
Where is the common sense????
What’s even more amusing is listening to everyone involved (Virgin Atlantic, TSA etc.) claim that they follow very strict security regulations and take all matters seriously...
They are getting VERY efficient and are repeating their fraud faster than the aircraft can fly to destination and take off again! ; )
So many choices, how could they POSSIBLY
have checked for a ticketless obvious terrorist?
“The case was continued until 10:30 a.m. Friday, she said.”
I have a hunch that with his craftiness Noibi will fail to appear on Friday......which may have been the authorities’ plan. They’re not permitted, by “Big Sis Napolitano” to incarcerate him or deport him. Best outcome for THEM was to postpone any resolution to sometime in the future, which they did, and then hope he scrams in the meantime....which he’s probably already done! End of problem.
. . . . just thought I'd beat the authorities to the post.
ME?
What's that... "Moderately Equitorial"?
We try so hard to entertain you, humble.
Too bad you can’t reciprocate.
I know, re-posting the same story for the 35th time just isn't my style.
Yes, and it was the FBI agents who questioned the guy after he was caught the first time and RELEASED him so he could try again, who determined that there is “no terrorism here, nothing to see, move along.”
I know this wouldn’t occur to you or the alleged 35 other posters, but keywords are helpful. I searched under ‘nigeria,’ ‘lax,’ ‘virgin airlines,’ and by title with zippo results.
If you would like a mission, here it is: add relevant keywords to help searchers.
Unless you simply enjoy being annoying, which has also been done countless times.
They don't count passengers during boarding - it's too chaotic for that. They are supposed to look at the boarding passes. If they scan them, the computer is supposed to tell them that the pass is no good. The system failed right there and then.
The head count was done after the takeoff because that's when you have a chance to count passengers - they aren't moving around at that time, but the crew can easily walk around since they know how many minutes remain until the actual takeoff.
Then, although Noibi was reported to the FBI and questioned after the plane landed, he was RELEASED.
And that is a shame. Obviously FBI doesn't think that Nigerians anonymously flying within the country under someone else's name and defrauding the carrier are not a threat. However John Smith, flying under his own name, will be held at gunpoint because one of millions of Johns Smiths did (or just as likely haven't done) something untoward a few decades ago.
The country is solidly in decay, and the law enforcement is not an exception. FBI just can't be bothered with petty matters like an unidentified Muslim flying under someone else's name, and they don't want to know how that Muslim got to own those expired boarding passes. It's much more fun to grope citizens who honestly paid for their tickets.
I thought you would like to know that “Noibi” is a Nigerian Muslim surname. I wouldn’t say it’s as common as “Jones”, but you find plenty of them. Usually they go by a Muslim name, you know, like Hakim, but then they have a traditional tribal name or names on there official documents. This one was probing, but thanks to Eric Holder and the Caliph-in-Chief authorities didn’t arrest him on the spot and will lose track of him.
The FBI said Noibi stayed in L.A. for four days and then tried to pull the same stunt on a Delta flight to Atlanta, again, with no valid ID or boarding pass. But security officers caught him with 10 expired boarding passes in his possession and he was taken into custody. He was charged with being a stowaway, but not under any terror or security laws. He faces a federal court hearing Saturday.
Danger Will Robinson, that TSA guy is wearing rubber gloves.
