Democratic political candidates can skip this weekend's July 4th parades. A new Harvard University study finds that July 4th parades energize only Republicans, turn kids into Republicans, and help to boost the GOP turnout of adults on Election Day.
"Fourth of July celebrations in the United States shape the nation's political landscape by forming beliefs and increasing participation, primarily in favor of the Republican Party," said the report from Harvard.
"The political right has been more successful in appropriating American patriotism and its symbols during the 20th century. Survey evidence also confirms that Republicans consider themselves more patriotic than Democrats.
According to this interpretation, there is a political congruence between the patriotism promoted on Fourth of July and the values associated with the Republican party. Fourth of July celebrations in Republican dominated counties may thus be more politically biased events that socialize children into Republicans," write Harvard Kennedy School Assistant Professor David Yanagizawa-Drott and Bocconi University Assistant Professor Andreas Madestam.

Their findings also suggest that Democrats gain nothing from July 4th parades, likely a shocking result for all the Democratic politicians who march in them.

Seeing as democrats political stand against everything that happened on July the 4th 235 years ago. This is not surprising.
The Democrats want men to be slaves to the Government, they deny their right to assert their Independence either individually nor in regional groups. They instead support the government’s ability to impose what it wants upon the people.
July the 4th 1776 is certainly not a holiday for those who admire socialism or any form of statism. July the 4th 1776 is about the individual, Independence and freedom. Concepts at war with the needs of socialism and what liberals define as “equality” of outcomes.

Remarkable. Harvard has turned into a petri dish for people who put up with their country, not love it.
Well, I hope all of these academic swells enjoy the Cape and the islandsthis weekend. They will do so because of men and women who had the guts to defend freedom, instead of criticizing the most important moment of our republic.

As the saying goes, “The Truth Shall Set You Free.” In other words, to be patriotic is a Republican notion. The Democrat notion is to not be patriotic. Got it!

Gay pride parades, in contrast, turn participants into Democrats. I think there may be a lesson here.

Cookouts forbidden because they will worsen Global warming.
Flying flags forbidden because America is a mean country.
Wishing folks a happy independence day forbidden because it might offend some minorities who feel like they are being oppressed (perhaps by things like immigration laws)
No Independence day parades unless gays are also allowed to march for gay rights and illegal aliens are allowed to march for Aztlan independence as part of said parade.
People are forbidden from dressing in colonial attire to celebrate the day because some colonists were slave owners and some blacks may be offended by this.
People are forbidden to publicly read the Declaration of Independence, because said declaration proclaimed independence but did not free the slaves.
The list can go on and on...
Some California judge decided that fireworks displays require and environmental impact report to be filed and a permit issued before they can be held.
I kid you not.

Actually, Harvard may have a point. Conservatives are much more likely to celebrate an American holiday by showing respect to our military (past and present), our independence, singing our anthem etc.. Democrats hate America and all it stands for. They hate our “violent” past, our military (past and present), our anthem... pretty much everything.
Look for Democrats to sneak a provision into a must pass bill banning 4th of July parades!
Wow! What an admission by the Academics at Harvard. Democrats do not relate to the symbols of our country that inspire actual patriotism.
