Mark Halperin, editor-at-large for Time, called President Obama “a dick” on Wednesday on a popular MSNBC morning show and then quickly apologized.
“I thought he was a dick yesterday,” Halperin, who also is a senior political analyst for MSNBC, said on Morning Joe, referring to the President’s conduct during his press conference.
Host Joe Scarborough hoped to prevent the comment from being broadcast, saying, “Delay that. Delay that. What are you doing? I can’t believe… don’t do that. Did we delay that?”

Obama displays all the characteristics of a petulent child. Spoiled, vindictive, holding a huge grudge against white America and capitalism itself, he’s truly psychotic. What Halperin called him doesn’t begin to describe the threat he represents.
Time magazine ? MSNBC? This was on the Morning Joe. Halperin is a liberal apparently disappointed with Obama’s (lack of) leadership on the budget/debt limit.
Obama through a few political grenades at Republicans yesterday blaming them for a lack of a deal, when he himself has done NOTHING but golf and fundraisers. This got his liberal (progressive) base Maddow, Matthews and O 'Donnell all fired up yesterday with :’Yes, finally Obama is fighting back against Republicans.’. But MSNBC Cenk Uygur was not buying it. He thinks Obama is just playing them again and will in the end cave to a ‘deal’, just as we expect Boehner will again.
Calling Obama a “dick” is probably more an insult to “dicks” than it is to Obama.
I was chuckling watching Mika paying more attention to her BlackBerry than she was in what the good Senator had to say about the debt crisis.
Focus, Mika, focus!

Why is he apologizing? Given the kind of person Obama is, the statement was an accurate, if generous, description.
I saw the press conference. Obama struggled to remember his lines. It got so bad he eventually had to deploy the Sasha-and-Malia-do-their-homework-the-day-before life preserver to break the press corps’ stunned silence on his meandering meltdown. If it had been at the Apollo Theater the hook would’ve been used. As it was he “died” a slow death on live radio and TV. Must be on YouTube by now. The truth? I think the liberal press are scared about their own positions in the markets and realize they are financially threatened, personally, by Obama’s agenda on the budget talks. I heard it in the seriousness of the questions and in reporters’ unflattering comments yesterday. My opinion?, Halperin’s d**k slur was left in to damage Obama. His politics are hitting their pocketbooks. The light dawns.
Unfortunately, the flap over the use of the word destroyed any chance of a discussion of why he was one. That’s what I would like to have heard.
This is the bigger story.

It’s a shame we live in a country where Mark Halperin can’t be thrown in jail for talking about Obama like this.
