A new national poll shows Gov. Rick Perry as the favorite of Tea Party supporters nationwide to take on Barack Obama in 2012, while another poll finds that Perry wouldn't even win his home state in a head-to-head against Obama.
A nationwide McClatchy-Marist poll of registered voters frames Perry as America's favorite non-candidate for president.
The best news for Perry came from self-described Tea Party supporters. In that category, Perry bested all other Republicans, drawing 20 percent support.
When all 801 respondents were asked whether they would vote for President Barack Obama or one of the GOP contenders, Romney fared best, losing to Obama by 4 points, with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. Against Perry, Obama led 48 percent to 39 percent.

How can nobody beat this guy except someone named "Generic Republican?"
I’m guessing the ones who don’t know him. I’ll never support anyone who was gore’s TX campaign manager.
That’s because they are enamored with his words, but have not been acquainted with his deeds, yet.
This poll must have been of Harlem.
I heard that Romney has filed to have his name legally changed to “Generic Republican”.
Same poll put Romney in 2nd place. What TEA party are they in?
I want Allen West. :)
Which poll would that be?
I'd say "Took Excessive Acid," but no doubt they all voted for Ron Paul.
Sarah Palin has carved out a very comfortable and lucrative niche for herself as a highly paid speaker and celebrity entertainer. I do not believe that she intends to leave that niche.

April 15, 2010: Sarah Palin income 12 million dollars since leaving office
I predict that Sarah Palin will endorse Governor Perry for the Presidency.
I hope that I am correct. The only thing that I have against Sarah Palin is that her nomination by irrational fans would have guaranteed the reelection of Barack Hussein Obama with absolute certainty.

Sarah Palin understands the reality of the situation a lot better than most of her fans do.
Governor Sarah Palin's Endorsement of Governor Rick Perry
"That's why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns and you know how I feel about guns!" ...... Sarah Palin, January 17, 2009

Rick Perry is a crook... He tried, tried and tried to garner a huge kickback from Cintas for most of the last decade pushing the TTC down the throats down Texas taxpayers and land owners who screamed at the top their lungs - WE DONT WANT THE TTC ... a God Awful story... and well documented.
Perry is “generic Republican” because people don’t know him well.
He is a malleable gummie politician.
Typical.
Hey everyone let’s dog pile on Perry.
He did this. He did that. He isn’t a perfect candidate.
DON’T support him.
circular firing squad.
Yeah you freepers just keep on shooting down all the repub candidates. Palin is unelectable. Perry is a traitor. on and on and on. Just keep it up. Discourage all repubs from supporting the person who ends up being the candidate.
Dog pile on them all. NONE of them are perfect, so “we” will stay home in protest.
and baraq wins a second term.
reap what you sew.
And who is the traitor?
PPP. The usual BS from them.
Do you realize that, when SIXTY FIVE PRECENT (65%) of all voters state that they will "definitely NOT" vote for Sarah Palin, it goes without saying that Sarah Palin is as electable as your neighbor's pet cat?
Don't you think that such a fact is worth mentioning so that the Christine O'Donnell fiasco of 2008 is not repeated and so that the Christine O'Donnell fiasco of 2010 is not repeated?
It is sound advice to recommend having an open mind and not automatically attacking all viable candidates except your own but it is not sound advice to recommend having such an open mind that your brains fall out.
I was good with the TTC plan. I do not understand the uproar. The truth is that I-35 sucks and is inadequate for the traffic it handles. The populations of DFW, Austin and San Antonio were fractions of what they are today when I-35 was first built. Perry could have gone about it differently, and the contract probably should have gone to an American company but any way he did it, somebody would have bitched. I mean the options are limited. You can have a private company do it and charge a toll to pay for it or you can have the state do it and raise taxes to pay for it. They used pretty much the same type of plan to build the new toll highway around Austin. I think I read somewhere that Cintas built it. I really like that road and dont mind paying when I use it because my taxes did not go up to pay for it. You are fooling yourself if you do not believe that something will eventually be done about I-35. I suspect that any solution will use eminent domain to whatever extent necessary and people will surely complain about how it is done and who does it. I just hope they go with a plan like they had for the TTC that does not raise taxes a lot to pay for it. The governor who does finally come up with a solution will undoubtedly be called a RINO for years to come because of it, but a better road to replace I-35 will be a good thing overall.
If you really believe what you wrote is the crux of the issue of the TTC - dear fellow - you are a naive ignorant fool... Good Grief ... Go do some basic research on the TTC public hearings ... DAMN what an idiot you are...
